Goats & Gourds!

Goats & Gourds!

2023-10-0418:15

Kristin Peck joins Jess Ellett on River City Podcast to talk about what The Areola Restoration Center is doing to help women be fully restored physically and emotionally with 3D Nipple Tattooing Post Mastectomy. They also discuss the educational need in our country for both the medical community and the survivor community to understand that there is a legal right to have full restoration and it is usually paid for by  insurance. This is all possible because of the Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act (WHCRA) that was signed into federal law on   October 21, 1998. Since the passage of this law, many thousands of women have had reconstructive surgery after mastectomy but many still don't know that this is possible.  Kristins new nonprofit, Warriors Inked, is helping shine a light on the legal rights we have to get this procedure done.  And in celebration of the anniversary, The Areola Restoration Center & Goat Yoga RVA are coming together to have a fundraiser event called Goats & Goards on October 21st, 2023.  Kristin talks about the event which will include 45 minute goat yoga classes with baby Nigerian dwarf goats, a boobie bar, live music, pumpkin and gourd painting and magic by Jackson deShazo.  This class is suitable for all levels; from first timers to advanced yogis. Bring your love for animals, sense of humor and exercise clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Participants in the Goats and Gourds event must sign up for a 45 minute time slot, however participation is not required.Sign up here! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/goats-gourds-registration-705451633827?Learn more about The Areola Restoration Center & Warriors Inked Learn more about Goat Yoga RVA Learn more about Jackson deShazo Surrealist Magic Thanks for listening to River City Podcast! Today we are also joined by Sarah Bradley and Dr. Dan Moore. Sarah is the Communications Manager for Wilton Construction. Dr. Dan is the owner the RevMed in Richmond, Virginia and he is a Direct Primary Care physician.  We also have a call in to Jessie Black who is the Mitigation Manager for Wilton Construction. We have a big issue with mold in Virginia with the extreme humidity combined with rainy days - especially in the spring. And that leads to a much higher level of mold than in dryer states. Mold grows wherever moisture or humidity is present. Because this is such a huge issue in the state, we sit down to discuss how to recognize if you have an issue in your home, how to get ride of mold safely, when to call in an expert and what the health issues are related to exposure to mold.
