Ryu Jung-ilho starts Won Tae-in at 3-4 against Noh Si-hwan and Kang Baek-ho in the first match against Hong Kong

South Korea's baseball team, looking to win its fourth consecutive Asian Games title, will bat Noh Si-hwan and Kang Baek-ho in the center field in its first game. Won Tae-in was selected as the starting pitcher.

The baseball team, led by coach Ryu Jung-il, will face Hong Kong in the first game of Group B of the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games qualifiers at the Shaoxing Baseball Sports and Culture Center near Hangzhou, China, on Sept. 1.

For the first game, South Korea's starting lineup is Kim Hye-sung (second base), Choi Ji-hoon (center field), Noh Si-hwan (third base), Kang Baek-ho (designated hitter), Moon Bo-kyung (first base), Yoon Dong-hee (right field), Park Sung-sung (shortstop), Kim Hyung-joon (catcher), and Kim Sung-yoon (left field).

Noh Si-hwan was the starting third baseman, Kang Baek-ho was the designated hitter and fourth outfielder, and Moon Bo-kyung batted fifth.

Kim Hye-sung and Choi Ji-hoon were the table-setters, while Yoon Dong-hee, who was called up a day before the national team's call-up, started in the sixth spot.

The starting pitcher is Won Tae-in. The right-handed orthodox Won Tae-in is one of the more reliable starters for South Korea in this tournament.

South Korea, which won three consecutive gold medals at Hangzhou 2010, Incheon 2014, and Jakarta-Palembang 2018, will be looking for its fourth consecutive victory at the event. 스포츠토토링크
