Description

The Murdaugh family was one of South Carolina's most powerful legal families. Three generations of Murdaughs held the position of solicitor in the lowcountry for almost one hundred years.

In February of 2019 a boat crash killed 19 year old Mallory Beach. Paul Murdaugh, the son of prominent SC attorney, Alex Murdaugh, was charged with three felony counts of boating under the influence, including causing the death of Mallory Beach.

June 7, 2021 Alex Murdaugh found his wife, Maggie, and son, Paul, brutally murdered, shot to death on their property known as Moselle.

On March 2, 2023 Alex was convicted of murdering Maggie and Paul.

Between the murders and the convictions many other crimes came to light.

No one could have expected the twists and turns the story has taken and it is not finished.

Seton Tucker and Matt Harris started the Impact of Influence podcast soon after the murders of Maggie and Paul Murdaugh.

You may have seen them talking about the Murdaugh saga on CourtTV, Murdaugh documentaries on Oxygen and Fox Nation and episodes on American Greed and Nancy Grace.

Seton and Matt continue updating the Murdaugh story and are now covering other crimes that have occurred throughout the Southeast.

Impact of Influence is now a Youtube channel

We have talked about the death of Shanquella Robinson and the mystery surrounding her death in five precious episodes. They are labeled S2. Please go back and listen to understand more about this case. In this episode we run a special that Tonya Rivens produced with Under the Crown. This is Tonya's description October 29th will mark the one-year anniversary of the death of Shanquella Robinson. Although no one has been charged in Shanquella's homicide, Robinson's father, Bernard Robinson, says he knows that justice will be served. On October 28, 2022 Shanquella Robinson traveled to the luxury Fundadores Beach Club in San José del Cabo, Mexico with six others. Less than 24 hours later, Robinson was dead. Her travel companions told the family that Shanquella died from alcohol poisoning. A viral video revealed that Shanquella was physically assaulted prior to her death. Mexican authorities stated that an autopsy disclosed that the 25-year-old suffered from severe neck and spine injuries. In November 2022, Mexican authorities issued arrest warrants for femicide and asked for the suspect to be extradited. Some legal experts say it's not common for the U.S. to extradite its citizens. According to Bernard, Shanquella was friends with only one person in the group, Khalil Cooke. And when asked about Khalil's friendship with his daughter, Bernard replied, "to be her best friend, you know truly, he wasn't no friend." Robinson says it feels like the group of 6, also called the Cabo 6, has been allowed to commit a crime, return to the U.S., and to not be held accountable. In April of this year, the F.B.I. stated that they would not pursue federal charges at the time due to lack of evidence. Bernard says that he was angered and still gets upset at times, but he believes that there will be justice. "God's gonna still bring justice, and that's how I'm gonna stand," he says. Bernard says that he's had to stand on his faith in God and take each day by day over the past year. He also has a letter written by a family friend and church member to share with the Cabo 6. She's been called America's daughter however Shanquella's story has touched the lives of people around the world. Dr. D'Michelle Dupre analyzed the autopsy report from Mexico and the autopsy from the U.S. She shares her thoughts. The autopsy from Mexico stated Shanquella had a broken neck. The autopsy from the U.S. found that she did not. Dr. Dupre is a retired Forensic Pathologist and former Medical Examiner. So distasteful to allow your guests to scoff about the grief of the Smith family and laugh about their pursuit of answers.

I’m gonna have to agree with the numerous comments on this podcast I have been watched listening to you guys since day one I didn’t see the bias at first but it only took me about two weeks before I noticed it. I cannot believe how clueless you guys pretend act on this podcast especially when it came to the tarp like poncho as if you guys have never seen one And then also how completely juvenile some of the opinions are when it only takes a little bit of common sense if you don’t know anything if everything confuses you please stop doing the podcast everything cannot confuse you? You just don’t want to stay at your pain based on the obvious facts give it up

Ok I don't usually comment on podcasts but this guest is clearly on the defenses side regardless of circumstantial evidence. They probably paid her to try to throw as much illogical crap as she could. Shameful!
