Description

The Sacred Sisterhood Podcast is one for the girls that get it. You know what I mean. The girls that get the hard times, the doubt, the fear, the comparison, the jealousy, the pride, do I really need to go on? God has called all of us sisters for such a time as this. The Sacred Sisterhood is just that, sacred. A place where we discuss the big stuff and walk through life together with God in front, it's a place where we can feel connected with God through His word, and loved fully by Him. It is, The Sacred Sisterhood.

I know this episode is loooong overdue and I have some serious apologizing to do (which I did), but I am so glad you are still sticking around with me despite me ghosting you! In all seriousness though, this episode is great for those who have problems with negative thinking and even for those who just can't seem to end the constant cycle of ungodly thoughts. I pray that this word for today will bring you hope and peace. Are you enjoying this podcast? Please leave me a review and/or a rating! In this episode, we are studying about exhortation. What is exhortation and am I called to do it? Jesus was and is our ultimate example of exhortation and what that looks like for us as His followers. You'll need a Bible for this episode and expect to get a little bit of homework at the end. This is the last episode before we start the next segment of the conversations series! Are you enjoying this podcast? Please leave me a review and/or a rating! In this episode my husband, Marcus Elliott joins us as we talk about how we are supposed to act amongst believers and unbelievers. God calls all of us believers to be set apart from the world so when we encounter an unbeliever, they can see the difference between our lives and theirs. Not that we are perfect, but that we have Jesus who is perfect and they can have Jesus too. Are you enjoying this podcast? Please leave me a review and/or a rating! In this episode, we discuss speaking well of others which mainly focuses on gossip. We have all fallen victim to gossip but we also have all been guilty of it. Gossiping is one of those sins that we sometimes like to rank as the least of them all but truthfully, gossip is just as much a sin as stealing or murder. All sin is equal in God's eyes and because of that, all sin requires repentance and forgiveness. Gossip can take many forms, but my prayer for you as well as myself is that we can begin to see gossip the way Jesus does and see the need to keep quiet. Are you enjoying this podcast? Welcome to the start of our next segment in the conversations series! In this episode, we talk about speaking truth and how lying is a sin that God hates. He hates all sin but lying is one sin that the Bible harps on. We discuss a few different types of lying. Mainly the ones mentioned in Proverbs 6:16-19 but lying has many forms. All are very serious and sinful but all have a very different consequence. Are you enjoying this podcast? Please leave me a review and/or a rating! Being gentle is the fruit of the Spirit that is right up there with Patience. I know for me, it’s one that I am constantly praying to have especially being a mother of 2 small kids. Listen in as we study about gentleness and learn ways to grow in our gentleness so that others see Christ in us and God is glorified! It is such a blessing to serve a faithful God. There are many different ways we can look at our lives and see the faithfulness of God and how even when we haven’t been faithful to Him, He has been consistently faithful to us. If you’re struggling with your faithfulness to God, try to think back to all the times He has kept you in your life. Think about all the things he has provided for you in your life. There are just so many things we can look at when we ponder upon His faithfulness. Great is His faithfulness! Spiritual goodness tells us that it’s not enough to just be a good person. When we are Holy Spirit led, goodness is so much more. It’s an act and not just a state of being. Jesus, our ultimate example of goodness was not just a good person. He was goodness, He showed goodness, and He expects goodness out of us. If you have topic suggestions or questions email us at: thesacredsisterhoodpodcast@gmail.com You mean a lot to me, but you mean more to God. Thank you for being here
“Kill them with kindness.” We’ve all heard it, some of us have said it, but do we truly understand the significance of the words? Jesus shows us a whole new meaning to what we think kindness is. Kindness isn’t always easy but it’s a requirement as followers of Christ. If you have topic suggestions or questions email us at: thesacredsisterhoodpodcast@gmail.com
Patience is hard to have for many reasons. You could be experiencing just about anything and part of it is that you just need patience. The hard part about patience isn’t always waiting like many might think. It’s the uncertainty of the outcome and what to do in the midst of the waiting season. In this episode, we discuss why waiting is required, why we should not have a “do nothing” approach in waiting, patience with God, and patients with others. Join me as I share some personal experiences that might just give you comfort in your season of patience.
Peace is just one of those feelings that everyone needs. We always hear people talking about wanting “peace and quiet” or wanting to “live in peace/be at peace.” There’s many different ways that we go about searching for peace. We go to our parents, our spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend, even drugs or alcohol, but do we truly find peace there? True peace is only found in Christ. Jesus gives us His peace when we’re searching for it in Him only. When our lives are crazy or it feels like our world is crashing down on us, we must have confidence that God is God and that He’s going to take care of us. In this episode we talk about having peace with God, peace with others, and peace with ourselves. If peace is something you struggle to have or you don’t know where to begin in finding it in Christ, I encourage you to take a listen to what He has to say about it. Peace in the Midst of the Storm Painting!
So many of us struggle to have joy. Many people even think that joy is just one of the emotions that we give to ourselves, like happiness. Joy and happiness are two very different things. In this lesson, I talk about what joy is, where it comes from, and even share a few tips on how to nurture joy in your own life. If joy is something that you just can’t seem to find or even understand, you will learn a lot from this lesson!
Welcome to season 1!! We all have that one person who is just so hard to love. Some of us have multiple people that we struggle to love for many different reasons. In this lesson, I focus a lot on loving the difficult people and why loving the hard to love is important to our growth in Christ. If loving the hard to love is something difficult for you to do, you’ll enjoy this lesson!

Learning how to read and study the Bible was the first step I took in growing my relationship with God. Like many Christians, I had a season of laziness when it came to studying the Bible and being completely sincere and authentic in my studies. God longs for a relationship with you and He wants you to learn more about Him and about Jesus and we do that by reading and studying what He has to say in the Bible. Listen in today as I talk about my struggles with reading and studying and how I was able to come back into a stronger, faithful relationship with God. The season 2 trailer will be released and available on February 1! You do not want to miss it!
