Description

Based on the iconic, Emmy-nominated series on A&E, 'Cold Case Files: The Podcast' explores some of the most difficult-to-solve murders, which stymied investigators and went cold, sometimes for decades. In fact, one-third of all murders in America remain open. But thanks to dogged investigators and breakthroughs in forensic technology, these cases become part of the rare 1% of cold cases that are ever solved. Hosted by Brooke Gittings ('Convicted' and 'Actual Innocence') and featuring the voice of original Cold Case Files host, Bill Kurtis.

First, Brooke doesn't do a very good investigation or explain to the Listener clearly things she should do to weave the narrative. I'm very disappointed that Mr.Curtis allowed her reporting to air. She never explained why and where all the parents were. Brooke doesn't say why the parents of Michael who is the brother of the mudder girl didn't get a attorney for him. Brooke talks about the mother but says nothing about the father during the whole time. Why? How were these 3 children by law allowed to be interrogated by these scumbag's? Sorry, saying that they were being pressured to charged someone flies in the face of do process. This murder happ- ened in a city considered to be one of CA best areas. From the point of financially and education San Diego is a vacation an job mecca. I hear no interrogation of the man who was ultimately convicted. Why? Mentally ill people who are picked up by police are always questioned. They are most likely to be hospitalized for treatment. Then questioned again. Brooke never address that either. This complete podcast is missing just the simple questioning and investigation into what I have commented on. I'm furious with the notion that the conduct of the policed was not challenged by anyone. If this happened in a place off the radar of society it might be more plausible. However, Brooke doesn't have the investigative chops to do a good job. I'm not basing this critique on just this podcast. But this one was so flawed by Brooke and her team. I'm the grandmother of a child who was kidnapped and murdered so I know a thing or too about the process. Thank you for your time.

Could not understand any of the wire tap audio. Should add narration to explain what they said.

The tactics of the police against these three boys sickens me. They should be held accountable. The defiance of the oringinal DA simply because of not wanting to admit a mistake speaks volumes to the lack of personal and proffesional interegy. And finally, the killer's conviction on a lesser charge and then overturned..13 years for taking a life that hadn't even experienced 13 years of life yet. SMH.

I have been very interested in the Cold Cast podcast. it is important to know an understand why cases go cold. However it is important to know that there are law enforcement doesn't give up. The narrator is very good at giving the facts. She does a great job at keeping the listener interested. Keep up the great work.

This episode, 'A Family Secret,' skips at 9:02. Starts with "on September 27th 19--"...*skips*..."the loss of a child is overwhelming on any parent but having to identify your child under the conditions I just described is unimaginable." What were the conditions???
