LAFC’s final home match of the regular season against Minnesota United is Sunday at BMO Stadium (with a halftime HaFoSaFo listener meetup/photo at the northeast corner!). A highly controversial El Tráfico week featured a toddler LAFC fan hit by a Galaxy supporter on an e-bike, an LAFC fan spitting on an older Galaxy supporter, and a viral “Ni hao” vs “mijo” misunderstanding involving a famous LAFC fan in a big hat. Meanwhile, the West is still a TIGHT TABLE. We look at likely playoff opponents (Dallas, St. Louis, San Jose), LAFC’s road struggles, and Minnesota as a trap game (yeah, I said it). And how we feeling about MLS Cup at this point? Any hope left?00:00 Season on the Line00:21 Welcome and Match Preview01:19 Merch and Postgame Plug01:52 Halloween Banter Begins02:45 Costumes and Mischief Night05:32 Haunted Houses and Horror09:29 Storylines Segment Intro11:33 El Trafico Controversies13:24 Rivalry Heat and Fan Behavior22:22 Sponsor Break Amirian Law23:53 Western Table Chaos25:00 Potential Playoff Opponents26:36 Road Matchup Breakdown27:25 Who Scares You Most29:34 Darren’s Vibes Ranking31:42 St Louis Dog Park Chaos33:01 Decision Day Table Math34:11 Minnesota Trap Game36:18 MLS Cup Confidence Check39:48 Urgency and Killer Instinct41:42 Second Half Blueprint45:17 MLS Minute Roundup48:30 Bet It and Forget It51:57 Final Plugs and SignoffJoin our Patreon and help us keep making this show.Merch and more at HappyFootSadFootPod.comYouTube: @happyfootsadfoot Twitter: @HaFoSaFoInstagram: @happyfootsadfootTikTok: @happyfootsadfoot Hosted on Acast. Travis, Vince, and Darren break down a chaotic 2–2 El Tráfico draw that felt like a win and a loss at the same time, with frustration over a first-half goal called back, late offside drama, and ongoing concerns about refereeing and time added on. The big takeaway is how much better LAFC looked after halftime with Sieb playing as the 9 and Bouanga back on the left, creating wave after wave of pressure and chances; Choinière’s influence off the bench also helped, while Delgado and Vasquez draw criticism for turnovers. We take your calls and try to unpack the mixed emotions of a game-winning goal at the death called back to end a playoffs-clinching El Tráfico draw.00:00 Wild El Tráfico Draw01:16 Second Half Identity02:19 Sieb at Striker03:57 Choinière Shines04:30 Frustration Boils Over06:56 Offside and Ref Debate10:28 Like Subscribe Patreon10:48 Super Chats and Tifo Talk17:09 Long Tafari Porteous Debate19:57 Jeff Tock Calls In23:03 Sonny Assist Discussion25:13 Caller David and Brodie26:29 Apology and Voting Plug27:14 Diego Calls In From Stadium28:30 Vela Side Hustle Jokes29:20 Trading Cards and Rants31:09 Leo Tailgate Community Story34:12 Galaxy Confetti Revenge36:01 Press Box Gripes and Shaff Debate38:28 Second Half Stats and Hope40:55 Olly Rants About Delgado43:18 Luke Praises Walta and Slams Ref46:09 Listener Photo and Wrap Up47:29 Joey Jump Scare FinaleJoin our Patreon and help us keep making this show.Merch and more at HappyFootSadFootPod.comYouTube: @happyfootsadfoot Twitter: @HaFoSaFoInstagram: @happyfootsadfootTikTok: @happyfootsadfoot Hosted on Acast. Travis, Vince, and Darren preview LAFC’s El Tráfico matchup vs the Galaxy on Sunday. We cover LAFC’s chance to sweep the season series, take the all-time El Tráfico lead (currently 10-10-7), and clinch a playoff spot; the Galaxy’s recent surge fueled by Joao Clauss; and a tight Western Conference table with multiple seeding scenarios. And we replay one of the first trivia games we ever played on this show, from EPISODE TWO(!) about the beautiful city of Carson.00:00 El Tráfico Stakes00:39 Podcast Intro and Plugs01:41 Listener Banter Mafia Deli08:38 Back to Soccer Storylines09:37 Can LAFC Take Over13:43 El Tráfico Memories and Rivalry16:59 Is Galaxy Surge Real21:59 Tight Table Playoff Math25:13 What We Learn Sunday27:18 Playoff Math Panic28:22 Seeding Strategy Debate30:54 El Trafico Stakes31:25 Sponsor Banter Walmart33:15 Amirian Law Ad Read34:28 Carson Trivia Game43:41 MLS Minute Rundown47:55 Bet It And Forget It51:26 Wrap Up And MeetupJoin our Patreon and help us keep making this show.Merch and more at HappyFootSadFootPod.comYouTube: @happyfootsadfoot Twitter: @HaFoSaFoInstagram: @happyfootsadfootTikTok: @happyfootsadfoot Hosted on Acast. Travis and Vince sit down with former LAFC coach Marc Dos Santos to discuss his years with the club, his emotions after being let go, and why pro sports is “cutthroat.” Marc shares his favorite LAFC memory—Gareth Bale’s extra-time goal in the MLS Cup Final—and behind-the-scenes details from that week. He reflects on the season’s highs and lows, including the Concacaf Champions League run, fatigue, roster and visa challenges, transfer-window instability, and officiating mistakes the league later acknowledged. Marc explains how LAFC’s desired style influenced evaluations, describing the difficulty of shifting from a transition-based identity to more possession and pressure. He addresses the “MAGA” label tied to social-media follows, and highlights unsung staff, players he admired—especially Giorgio Chiellini—and his all-time LAFC best XI.00:00 Cutthroat Coaching Life00:34 Show Intro and Guest Tease03:24 Marc Joins the Pod04:42 Favorite LAFC Moment09:18 Unsung Club Heroes10:42 Season Review and CCL Run17:03 Style Identity Debate20:35 Fatigue Pressing and Roster Fit23:49 Visa Delays and Player Struggles26:02 Ref Mistakes and Four Points28:10 Getting Fired and Moving On32:00 MAGA Rumor Explained35:41 On Faith and Public Labels36:56 Host Apology and Accountability38:14 Clearing the Air39:55 Mafia Talk Detour43:18 Foodie Travel Plans45:09 Love for LAFC Fans46:08 Chiellini Leadership Lessons52:05 Coaching Life Realities53:24 Best and Worst Kits55:09 Gareth Bale Ring Story57:33 Building the Best XI01:01:14 More Player Shoutouts01:05:36 Final Thanks and Wrap01:06:16 Hosts Reflect and Sign OffJoin our Patreon and help us keep making this show.Merch and more at HappyFootSadFootPod.comYouTube: @happyfootsadfoot Twitter: @HaFoSaFoInstagram: @happyfootsadfootTikTok: @happyfootsadfoot Hosted on Acast. Darren and Vince react to LAFC’s frustrating draw at NYCFC, highlighted by Leo Walta’s spectacular set-piece goal, Hugo Lloris’ saves, and a last-second chance that could have stolen a win. Despite taking four points this week, the performances under Xavi aren’t improving. Players are being used out of position—especially Denis Bouanga at center forward—and there's a lack of chance creation, cohesion, and ball progression. LAFC spent long stretches without shots and looked worse against a bad opponent. For the week, the results are good enough, but for the project to be good enough to do anything in the playoffs, we're not there, and we'll see if anything changes in a big El Trafico matchup next week.00:00 Inches From Points00:21 Postgame Frustration01:46 Xavi System Doubts03:03 Bouanga Misused04:04 Tactical Tweaks Not Enough06:16 Possession Versus Transition07:56 Results Versus Playoffs10:38 What Is The Plan18:35 Happy Foot Sad Foot21:50 Super Chats And Callers27:03 Set Piece Breakdown28:13 DP Defense Debate29:29 Midfield Passing Woes30:10 Coaching Philosophy Clash33:23 No Shots Alarm34:16 Stats Tell The Story36:23 Luck And Playoff Path38:55 Super Chats And Pronunciations41:07 El Trafico Test47:16 Bouanga Role Concerns49:18 Points Prediction Wrap52:02 Live Penalty WatchalongJoin our Patreon and help us keep making this show.Merch and more at HappyFootSadFootPod.comYouTube: @happyfootsadfoot Twitter: @HaFoSaFoInstagram: @happyfootsadfootTikTok: @happyfootsadfoot Hosted on Acast.
