Into the Deep

This meditation reflects on the parable of the labourers in the vineyard, exploring the profound dignity of human work and our call to sanctify it at every stage of life. As we consider the landowner's urgent invitation and boundless generosity, let us ask for the grace to serve God with joy, avoiding comparison and offering all our daily tasks for the salvation of souls.

In this meditation on the third chapter of Saint John’s Gospel, we accompany Nicodemus as he approaches our Lord in the darkness of his weak faith. We see how Christ meets our human inadequacy and uses it to reveal profound truths about baptism, the sovereign freedom of the Holy Spirit, and the love of the Father shown on the Cross. Guided by Mary’s example, we are invited to fill the jars of our daily lives to the brim through temperance, honest work, and profound sincerity. Just as Christ transformed ordinary water into the finest wine and purified His Father’s house, He can cleanse our souls and turn our everyday struggles into abundant divine grace.
