You have grown accustomed to the high places of emotional elevation, but I am teaching you that My government over your life is not dependent on how you feel, but on how you obey. When the wind of excitement dies down and the landscape feels dry, do not panic or look for a new spectacle to sustain you. Instead, return to the last word I gave you and the specific assignment where you know My hand was clearly at work. Be faithful in that small, steady place of obedience, for My kingdom is established in the hidden things of your heart, not in the loud noise of the world. I am the jealous God who will not share My glory with the flesh or with external dependencies, so I am asking you to stop running after the suggestions of others and simply listen to the still, small voice that knows the way to life.
