The pressure is on as Oonagh takes her first steps into the world of stand-up comedy! On Friday, she faced her fears and performed her first comedy practice set in front of the iRadio team, giving her a chance to test her jokes before the big performance this coming Friday. With no previous stand-up experience, how did Oonagh cope with the nerves, and did she manage to get the office laughing? Cooper and Oonagh look back at her first attempt, the funniest moments and how she got on ahead of the real gig. Will this practice run turn Oonagh into a comedy star, or is there still plenty of work to do before she hits the stage for real?
Is it ever acceptable to ask your friends to pay for food and drinks after inviting them over for dinner? On today’s Get It Off Your Chest, Emma from Monaghan is fuming after receiving a €30 Revolut request from a friend who hosted a dinner party. Emma brought her own drinks and even treated everyone to a lemon meringue pie from a fancy pastry shop, but the following week she was asked to contribute towards the cost of frozen pizzas, chips, cheese and crackers. The other guests have paid up, but Emma thinks the request is cheeky and is still debating whether to send the money. Is her friend justified in asking everyone to split the bill, or is this terrible hosting etiquette? Cooper and Oonagh weigh in on this awkward friendship dilemma and debate whether Emma should pay up or stand her ground!
We want the number one answer from you to Donal's question. We have fun finding other answers along the way, but what is number 1! This morning it was all about those things we buy just because other people have bought them first
Laura joined the show this morning to take on Rhyme It, our fast-paced word game that puts players under serious pressure. The rules are simple: you get 30 seconds to answer as many questions as possible, but every answer has to rhyme with a word you’re given. It sounds easy… until the clock starts ticking. ⏱️ From quick thinking to tongue-twisting rhymes, keep the answers flowing while the pressure built.
On today’s show, Cooper and Oonagh discuss all the things we end up buying simply because everyone else has them! From must-have gadgets to household appliances we’re convinced we can’t live without, what purchases have we been influenced into making? Plus, on Get It Off Your Chest, one listener is baffled after being charged for snacks when they were invited to a friend’s house. Is asking guests to pay for refreshments fair enough, or is this seriously bad hosting etiquette? And we revisit Oonagh’s first-ever stand-up comedy performance in front of a live iRadio audience last Friday! How did she get on when she finally stepped onto the stage to practise her comedy routine? Tune in for hilarious debates, awkward social situations and a behind-the-scenes look at Oonagh’s comedy journey!
