Today on City Cast Portland, we’re revisiting a conversation with WeShine, a neighbor-organized nonprofit that builds and runs micro-villages in our city that have proven effective in moving people into permanent housing. They were recently burglarized during the final phase of construction of their newest village in the Hosford-Abernethy neighborhood and lost thousands of dollars in equipment. When Dan Brophy, a popular teacher at the Oregon Culinary Institute, was found murdered in 2018, it became one of the most astounding true crime stories Oregon had seen in decades. The big twist: his wife, Nancy, was ultimately found guilty of his murder.
