We're back after a long break to discuss Disney vs. DeSantis and other Florida happenings, as well as Darin conceding our bet regarding the arrest of Donald Trump. There's lots of stories about Ted's trip to Costa Rica and Darin's adventures at Megacon and in Scotland. Plus, plenty of 2022 review lightning rounds and predictions for 2023, and personal stories about our music projects and our kids outsmarting us.
We start the new year with a podcast recorded in mid-December! In our debut episode as part of the Diamond Podcast Network, we discuss the Omicron variant of COVID19, and meander through a discussion of moviegoing during the pandemic. Segments include an extended 2021 In Memoriam and Darin's Quick Movie Reviews of Ghostbusters:Afterlife and Little Nicky. We end with a story about dolphins.
Back after a ridiculously long break, we discuss our experiences with COVID19 and the effects of taking the vaccine. After Darin enjoys a popular drink from the 1980's, a current events lightning round leads to a discussion of the events of January 6. Finally, a quick story about hooking up a television!
Back after way too long, we discuss the ongoing presidential election craziness, and make predictions for 2021, which leads to a bet between the hosts. Plus, a story of Ted going apple picking! We have tons of segments, including Asian Domination, Trending Topic, and In Memoriam. And the whole episode is the backdrop for Darin's last opportunity to use his Warsaw Ghetto Pass before it expires at the end of the year.
The tension rises as we discuss US Post Office delays, nightmare Presidential election scenarios, and the NRA lawsuit! Plus, In Memoriam and Discontinued Foods segments, and a story about Darin's trip to Georgia leads to a Georgia lightning round. We end with Ted's Tropical Storm Isaias preparation.
Back after a long break, we kick off the campaign season with our very own What About Now? show rally! We discuss months worth of current events, including the Black Lives Matter protests, COVID19, recent Supreme Court decisions, and the Russian bountygate scandal. Plus, a massive In Memoriam segment. We close with some funny home improvement stories!
It's our special pandemic edition! We discuss incompetence by the US government, our personal daily routines, and share handy hints for surviving the lockdown. No segments, no Listener Prime search, nothing but the pandemic! OK, maybe one silly story about a windy day in Maryland.
After almost 3 months off, we're back with a discussion of events from 3 weeks ago! There's a current events lightning round, and a salute to Mitt Romney's impeachment vote. Plus, Darin's Rise of Skywalker review, and a discussion of Darin's new Ring doorbell, which leads to stories of internet trolls. Finally, In Memoriam, Asian Domination, and Trending Topic segments.
After a long break, we return just in time for Trump's impeachment! The show was recorded just a few minutes after the impeachment vote, so we open with an impeachment discussion for our Trending Topic segment. In addition, we cover Ted's recent trips to Memphis and Chicago, and Darin leads a discussion on internet streaming habits in our By the Numbers segment. Recorded at the end of August and delayed due to illness, this episode features a discussion of Spider-Man leaving the MCU and other news from Disney's D23 Expo. There's also a current events lightning round that leads into Darin's tirades regarding the Lawrence O'Donnell retraction scandal and James Comey's election involvement. Plus, In Memoriam and Sad Science segments, and we end with an extended Treding Topic related to Hurricane Dorian.
This post-Mueller-testimony episode begins with a discussion of the "disgusting rat-infested mess" known as Maryland's 7th district, AKA where Ted lives, and then meanders through discussions of white privilege and presidential racism. Also, a story about the BRAT diet takes a dark turn, we check online to see if Darin was a victim of the Equifax data breach, and we highlight a wedding that Darin and Ted both attended. Plus, a long In Memoriam segment, along with the new Awkward Celebrity Encounter segment. We end with a quick story about driving with a sleeping child, and a super-fast Trending Topic segment.
From the Democratic debates to the border crisis, politics take center stage in this episode! We also discuss the major SCOTUS rulings, leading to a radical proposal to reshape the electoral map. Plus, In Memoriam and Trending Topic segments, and lots of stories about trips to the movies intertwined throughout the episode. Finally, we close with Darin's strange car noise and Ted's preparation for a weekend by himself.
It's the first garagecast, with Ted banished to his garage for the duration of the show. As we meander through a discussion of current events and sitting through long movies, Darin realizes that his movie viewing habits are evolving as he ages. We also revisit recent events in The Walking Dead and Black Mirror, and discuss Trending Topic, In Memoriam and Weird Science segments. Finally, a farewell to Darin's dead car and mini stories by Ted!
This episode is the post-Avengers:Endgame episode, with a brief spoiler-free review, and a discussion of Darin's attempts to avoid spoilers and the resulting bet between the hosts. We also cover evolving opinions regarding useless celebrities, and have In Memoriam and Asian Domination segments. Plus, the brand new Follow-Up segment includes a discussion of the recent Sri Lankan bombings and talk of sacrifice for the greater good. If all that wasn't enough, we close the show with dueling stories of Darin's trip to Disney and Ted's trip to Fort Lauderdale.
Recorded before the release of the Mueller report, this episode has the hosts discussing the Attorney General's 4-page non-summary. But while everyone is now talking about the redacted Mueller report, we discuss the secret unredacted version! Also, Darin recounts his recent and not-so-recent trips to the smoky mountains of Tennessee, and we test out our new temporary Listener Prime!
