Brother has just arrived home from Alberta, full of referendum talk. He has a test for Sister, and then drives her into madness. A political argument erupts…but the kind only The Sibs can have. Reckless comments, a well known Canadian figure accused of being bad at Scrabble, a few factual errors, and ultimately the question: is it possible to just eat dinner with Tucker Carlson? Attempts at subject changes are futile, but mercifully the arrival of a child saves us all.
Brother is sick, his kids are sick, and a late night hospital run caused havoc - including a slapstick moment involving vomit. Sister is sympathetic. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM NOAH! The Sibs are getting fact checked by a 10 year old, to no one's surprise. Allison is also fact checking herself, as she revisited her interview with an astronaut, and does a stunning dramatic reading of the transcript. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM DR. STAN! The pod's own Carmen Sandiego is in Nigeria, where he worked on his PhD years ago, so he's thinking about homecomings. Jon talks about going back to his alma mater, and Allison talks about Scotland: make sure you bring a sweater - even in summer. Then The Sibs wonder about the logistics of Dr. Stan's life while he's travelling the world: what is the laundry situation? Is there a home base? Does he wife travel with him or is he galavanting all over without her? Jon accuses Allison of investigating the listeners. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM RYAN! He has some thoughts on Jon's most recent visit to Stop Podcasting Yourself; a suggestion for Allison's winter blues; and an invitation to go sniping. The Sibs talk American college teams and towns: years ago Allison went to Syracuse, New York, to see a football game, while Jon went to Athens, Georgia and couldn't find a beer on Sunday, or a place to poop. Then they go full conspiracy, and believe they have discovered Ryan's (Codename: Snipes) true identity. BROTHER ON TOUR! Jon has lots of shows coming up in Canada, so if you want to see him tell jokes, follow him on instagram for the most up to date listings: https://instagram.com/tvsjondore
Brother loves The Beatles and he'll duct tape you to a chair if you don't! Sister has thoughts on the Fab Four but isn't allowed to express them. Eggs: do they go in the fridge? What happens when you are forced to eat eggs out of politeness? WE GOT A MESSAGE FROM KEYSER SöZE! He's sharing more about his mouth fart, and The Sibs squabble about poop again. Then Allison reveals her secret conspiracy theory about Canada's most beloved astronaut. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM ANDREA! She has a theory about Keyser's Sasquatch, and it's possible she and Jon have a telepathic connection. Editor's note: I finally realized Andrea meant Usual Suspects. We might not be smart but we get there in the end. The Sibs squabble about mythical creatures, and Jon looks up quotes on neutrality. They end with some quick family talk and a mini quiz.
Brother forgot Father David Dore's birthday on Spetember 12th, and reminisces about another year when Father's birthday was overshadowed. Sister was accosted by a Magician at a restaurant. Jon went to a concert and had a mostly bad time, except for the music part. The Sibs rage against the music machine, and the entertainment venues of the nation's capital. Allison debuts a new segment and a squabble starts because Jon can't listen. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM SACHA! He is in his sick bed, but gathered enough energy to phone in with some questions; a movie question for Allison, and a question about The Jon Dore Television Show for Jon. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM ANONYMOUS! He's calling in to tell us about the time he farted out of his mouth and threw up, but that's not why he's anonymous. He's also telling us about his cousin who thinks he saw a big foot and doesn't want to get caught spilling the beans. Of couse, squabbles ensue over both topics. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM AUSSIE JERRY! It involves multiple dimensions and The Sibs aren't smart enough. Don't worry…there's a squabble.
Brother is getting real, talking about his life, parenting, and the fact that no one here gets out alive. Sister loves getting real is and here to validate some emotions! Fall is bringing up a lot of feelings and fears about Jon's finances, fiancee and future; a school bus incident has him questioning himself about his abilities as a father. For someone with no children, Allison has a lot of thoughts on parenting. Jon and his daughter discuss the pledge of allegiance, and Allison thinks about how it's harder to be a kid these days. Jon reflects on his reflection and Allison shares a rumour about a big celeb. WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM NATALIE! The Podmother is back with another edition of Squabble Starter! A very easy to understand game that The Sibs have a real hard time understanding. Before ending the show, Allison remembers to tell Jon she confronted Sherry about their affair.
