Behind the walls of Holmesburg Prison lies a history far more disturbing than most people realize.
Join Paranormal in Pennsylvania for a special episode featuring our guests, Horror Hour with the Hannas, as we explore the dark and complicated history of Holmesburg Prison in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In this episode, we dig into the prison's past, discuss the disturbing events that made Holmesburg infamous, and explore its reputation as a location of paranormal interest.
Could a place marked by so much suffering hold stories that extend beyond its documented history?
From Revolutionary War battles to Civil War soldiers, these historic strongholds have witnessed centuries of conflict, suffering, and loss—and according to countless reports, some of those who lived and died there may have never truly left.
In this episode, we revisit the eerie stories, ghostly encounters, unexplained sounds, shadow figures, and lingering spirits connected to some of Pennsylvania’s most fascinating historic forts.
Opened in the late 1800s, the sprawling Victorian and Gothic-style hospital was home to some remarkable figures, including Dr. Alice Bennett, one of the first female chief physicians in the United States. As the decades passed, overcrowding became a major issue, and the hospital evolved alongside changing attitudes toward mental health treatment. Despite portions of the campus remaining active into the 21st century, many historic buildings now sit abandoned, their empty halls fueling stories of paranormal activity.
Among the most chilling legends are those surrounding the hospital's underground tunnels. Visitors report hearing disembodied voices, seeing shadowy apparitions, and feeling an overwhelming sense that they are not alone. Some believe these spirits are former patients, while others speculate the tunnels were used during escape attempts that ended in tragedy. We'll also discuss the hospital's connection to notorious serial killer H. H. Holmes, who briefly worked on the grounds before beginning his infamous criminal career. This is an episode full of spooky history and hauntings.
What might we discover when we investigate a Victorian building believed to be haunted? Join Paranormal in Pennsylvania as we investigate the Shops at West Diamond, a historic building dating back to around 1880. Today, the building is home to three unique businesses: a rock shop, a tarot shop, and an herb shop. But its history goes far beyond its current occupants. For decades, the building housed the law offices of Henninger & Robinson, adding another fascinating chapter to its past. Today, the owners believe the building may be haunted—and they invited us inside to investigate.
We explore the historic building, learn about its past, hear about the experiences that led the owners to suspect paranormal activity, and conduct our own investigation to see what we might encounter. Our friends at Crypts and Corks tagged along to bring even more energy! Is something still lingering inside this Victorian building? Watch the investigation and decide for yourself!

Join Paranormal in Pennsylvania as we visit Harmony Cemetery in Harmony, Pennsylvania, a fascinating historic cemetery with a very unusual story. The cemetery is connected to the Harmonists, a religious community that settled in Harmony in the early 1800s. Unlike many traditional cemeteries, the Harmonists did not believe in marking graves with gravestones—leaving much of the cemetery today as an expansive, largely unmarked burial ground. Remarkably, there is just one single headstone marking a grave.
While exploring the cemetery, we take a closer look at its history, including the incredible stone wall and revolving stone door, historic features dating back to the 1800s. We also discuss some of the alleged hauntings and paranormal stories associated with the cemetery.
Come explore one of Pennsylvania's most unusual historic cemeteries with Paranormal in Pennsylvania!
