MN College Hockey Scoreboard Show For Games from November 25-30 2025 We didn’t have a super full plate of games across the Division I slate, but we had a pretty decent Thanksgiving week of games overall in the State of Hockey, complete with postponements and snowy travel. It’s time for another edition of Minnesota’s College Hockey Scoreboard Show where as always, it’s not about the analysis, it’s not about the breakdowns, it’s JUST. THE. SCORES. AND MAYBE A DAD JOKE OR THREE. Division I Men Minnesota State vs. Northern Michigan Fri: #14 Minnesota State 4, Northern Michigan 0 Sat: #14 Minnesota State 3, Northern Michigan 2 No. 14 Minnesota State kept Northern Michigan winless with a weekend sweep in Marquette. In Game One, Liam Watkins scored twice as the Mavericks prevailed 4-0. Alex Tracy stopped 35 shots for his second shutout of the season. In the series finale, three different players scored and Tristan Lemyre scored his eighth of the year to lift the considerably underranked Mavericks to 10-2-4 on the season. The Mavericks host Ferris State in CCHA action this weekend in Mankato. They’ve won six in a row and haven’t lost in regulation since the season opener against Omaha. North Dakota vs. Bemidji State Fri: #6 North Dakota 5, Bemidji State 3 Sat: #6 North Dakota 2, Bemidji State 1, OT Five different players scored as sixth-ranked North Dakota took the first game of its home-and-home series with Bemidji State 5-3. The Fighting Hawks needed overtime to claim Game Two at the Ralph as Ben Strinden scored his ninth of the years, as did Will Zellers, who scored the OT game-winner. Bemidji State will host Augustana as the teams return to conference action this weekend. St. Thomas vs. Michigan Tech Fri: St. Thomas 3, Michigan Tech 3 (UST wins SO) Sat: St. Thomas 2, Michigan Tech 1 St. Thomas picked up five out of six points on the weekend, tying Michigan Tech in Houghton in Game One and picking up the extra point with the shootout win. Lucas Van Vliet scored twice in Game One, while Game Two also went the Tommies way with a 2-1 win with Van Vliet scoring the eventual game-winner midway through the second. St. Thomas hosts Lake Superior State at “The Penny” this weekend. Sorry Lee, that’s what they’re calling it - not my rules. Minnesota vs. Denver (Hall of Fame Game) Sat: Minnesota 6, #4 Denver 5, OT Despite getting outshot 52-25 and only putting up one shot in overtime, that’s what Minnesota needed to pick off fourth-ranked Denver 6-5 in overtime at Ball Arena in Denver for the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game. Javon Moore found the goal with 35 seconds left in overtime. Six different players scored. The Gophers are sitting 7-9-1 and will head to Columbus to take on Ohio State. Division I Women Bemidji State vs. Lindenwood Fri: Lindenwood 7, Bemidji State 4 Sat: Lindenwood 2, Bemidji State 2 (LU wins SO) It was tough sledding for Bemidji State this weekend and that’s not a pun about the weekend snowstorm through the midwest. Lindenwood took out the Beavers in suburban St. Louis, picking up a 7-4 win on Friday. The teams skated to a 2-2 tie on Saturday with the host Lions taking the shootout, which is essentially meaningless in non-conference action. Bemidji State will host Minnesota-Duluth this weekend. St. Cloud State at D1 in DC (Colgate / Clarkson) Fri: #14 St. Cloud State 3, #12 Colgate 2, OT Sat: #10 Clarkson 2, #14 St. Cloud State 0 No. 14 St. Cloud State played a pair of ECAC regulars in the somewhat annual D1 in DC event in Northern Virginia. Game One saw Sofianna Sundelin score a hat trick, which included the overtime game-winner as the Huskies upended No. 12 Colgate 3-2. The second game saw no offense as Clarkson shut down the Huskies and the No. 10 Golden Knights took a 2-0 win. St. Cloud State will hit the road to take on No. 12 Minnesota State this weekend. Minnesota State vs. Dartmouth Fri: #15 Minnesota State 5, Dartmouth 2 Sat: #15 Minnesota State 5, Dartmouth 0 No. 15 Minnesota State stayed hot, winning their fourth in a row in a weekend sweep over Dartmouth. Five different players scored in Friday’s 5-2 win over the Big Green and the same thing happened again on Saturday as five different players scored in a 5-0 shutout. Lauren Goldsworthy, Mercury Bischoff and Ayla Puppe scored in both games. Bischoff now has 10 goals on the season. The Mavericks will host St. Cloud State this weekend. Division III Men Tuesday Marian 2, Augsburg 1, OT MSOE 6, St. Mary’s 4 Hamline at Concordia-Moorhead — Postponed, rescheduled for February. We’ve got more splits than a bad bowling alley. After a weekend that saw me in Oklahoma, thus, unable to do an adequately mid-job at doing a show, we’re back out of the box and back for another episode of Minnesota’s College Hockey Scoreboard Show. Here’s a tip I learned from our man State of Hoppy - take that Lucky Seven 7th Avenue Pizza, 14 minutes, then finish with a minute or two on broil and BOOM. Scorched roof of your mouth goodness. Probably why I didn’t record this show earlier. And Happy Thanksgiving. For our Canadian Friends, that’s THURSDAY. This week, we start with the women, and here’s why Division I WomenFri: Minnesota State 3, #2 Minnesota 1Sat: Minnesota State 4, #2 Minnesota 1Mercury Bischoff scored a hat trick on Saturday and scored four goals on the weekend as Minnesota State swept No. 2 Minnesota 3-1 and 4-1, giving the Mavericks their first sweep over the Golden Gophers since 2006. I didn’t even know my wife then. I still lived in Pennsylvania and hadn’t yet made the mistake of purchasing my first house with an awful credit score at the age of 27. Anyway. Minnesota State improved to 8-7-1, while the Gophers fell to 12-4. Minnesota State will host Dartmouth in non-conference action this coming weekend, while Minnesota is off until its home-and-home in two weeks with St. Thomas. Fri: #3 Ohio State 3, #5 Minnesota Duluth 1Sat: #3 Ohio State 4, #5 Minnesota Duluth 1Ohio State’s Joye Dunn scored three goals on the weekend as No. 3 Ohio State swept fifth-ranked Minnesota Duluth, picking up a 3-1 win on Friday and a 4-1 win in Duluth on Saturday. The Bulldogs are off until they get back to WCHA action in December at Bemidji State. Fri: #10 St. Cloud State 4, Bemidji State 0Sat: Bemidji State 6, #10 St. Cloud State 5, OTPayton Remick scored twice in No. 10 St. Cloud State's 4-0 win over Bemidji State at the Sanford Center on Friday. The second game was wild, as Bemidji State built a 4-1 lead, then fell behind 5-4, only to tie it up with 30 seconds left and then win it in overtime 6-5. Hailey Armstrong's seventh of the year was the game-winner. Bemidji State goes on the road next week for a non-conference series at Lindenwood, while St. Cloud State will head to D1 in DC to take on Clarkson and Colgate in the nation's capital. Fri: #1 Wisconsin 8, #15 St. Thomas 0Sat: #1 Wisconsin 4, #15 St. Thomas 3, OTTop-ranked Wisconsin rolled past No. 15 St. Thomas on Friday, shutting out the Tommies 8-0 before the Tommies made the Badgers fight for the final game. Wisconsin ultimately prevailed, with Cassie Hall's overtime game-winner giving the Badgers the 4-3 win. It was the sixth OT game this season for the Tommies, who fell to 8-10 overall. The Tommies are off until the aforementioned home-and-home with the Gophers the first weekend of December. Division I MenFri: Minnesota 3, #5 Penn State 2Sat: #5 Penn State 2, Minnesota 1It was a much more believable split this weekend for Minnesota as the Golden Gophers came off last week's split with LIU and promptly split with No. 5 Penn State at 3M Arena at Mariucci. The Mavericks blanked the Huskies 3-0 in the first game as it was light work for Alex Tracy, who only had to stop 12 shots in the shutout. Game Two saw three different Mavericks score, including Evan Murr's sixth of the season. Minnesota State will head to the UP to face Northern Michigan this coming weekend. Fri: Bemidji State 7, Northern Michigan 3Sat: Bemidji State 6, Northern Michigan 2Bemidji State put up 13 goals in a pair of games to sweep Northern Michigan 7-3 and 6-2, improving to 9-5-2 and sending Northern to its 14th straight loss to open the season. Connor McClennan scored four goals in the opener, while Oliver Peer put up a hat trick in the second game. Bemidji State stands in first place in the CCHA and will have a home-and-home non-conference series with North Dakota this weekend. Fri: #4 Minnesota Duluth 4, Colorado College 2Sat: Colorado College 2, #4 Minnesota Duluth 1, OT No. 4 Minnesota Duluth took four of six points in a weekend split at Robson Arena in Colorado Springs against Colorado College. UMD is a point behind conference leaders Denver and Western Michigan and will head into the Thanksgiving Break 12-3. They’re off until they head to Lawson to take on Western Michigan the first weekend in December. Fri: Miami 6, St. Cloud State 5, OTSat: St. Cloud State 4, Miami 2St. Cloud State took four out of six points in a weekend split at Miami, dropping the first game 6-5 in overtime in a game where the Huskies tied the game twice after falling behind by two goals. Grant Ahcan scored twice, including an empty netter that iced it with a minute left. The win snapped St. Cloud State's four-game losing streak. The Huskies are off this week and will host North Dakota when conference play kicks back up in December. Division III MenAugsburg vs. St. ScholasticaFri: Augsburg 4, St. Scholastica 1Sat: St. Scholastica 4, Augsburg 1Concordia-Moorhead vs. Gustavus AdolphusFri: Gustavus Adolphus 4, Concordia-Moorhead 3Sat: Gustavus Adolphus 2, Concordia-Moorhead 0Hamline vs. BethelFri: Bethel 4, Hamline 1Sat: Hamline 3, Bethel 2, OTSt. John’s vs. St. OlafFri: St. John’s 2, St. Olaf 1Sat: St. John’s 2, St. Olaf 2 (SJU wins SO) Division III WomenHamline vs. BethelFri: #9 Hamline 1, Bethel 0Sat: Bethel 4, #9 Hamline 0Gustavus Adolphus vs. Concordia-MoorheadFri: Concordia-Moorhead 3, Gustavus Adolphus 2Sat: Gustavus Adolphus 3, Concordia-Moorhead 2St. Mary’s vs. St. CatherineFri: St. Mary’s 4, St. Kate’s 2Sat: St. Kate’s 1, St. Mary’s 0, OTSt. Olaf vs. St. BenedictFri: St. Benedict 1, St. Olaf 0Sat: St. Olaf 5, St. Benedict 1Augsburg vs. St. ScholasticaFri: St. Scholastica 1, #2 Augsburg 1 (CSS wins SO)Sat: #2 Augsburg 6, St. Scholastica 1 I’m Jason Bryant (@jasonmbryant). Sports are hard. Trying to maintain your place in college hockey’s upper echelon is also hard. When you think about it, there’s 16 teams that get to make the tournament. There’s six conferences, so that’s five spots you aren’t going to get right off the top. That means you have to be one of the best 11 teams in the country each and every year for your fanbase not to complain that the sky is falling. But that’s sports. Rationality goes out the window. WIth that in mind, here’s this weekend’s Minnesota College Hockey Scoreboard, devoid of breakdowns, analysis or anything outside of the scores. Remember, it’s JUST. THE. SCORES. Division I MenFri: #16 Minnesota State 4, Bowling Green 4 (MSU wins SO)Sat: Bowling Green 1, Minnesota State 1 (BGSU wins SO)We split the points in the CCHA over the weekend as Bowling Green and No. 16 Minnesota State saw both games end in ties, with each team taking the extra point in a shootout. College hockey’s been nuts this year and we’ve got ebbs and flows, peaks and valleys. It’s enough to make you pull your hair out - or if you don’t have any, grow in gray. Conference action is here. You already hate the NPI even though it’s not even worth looking at until January at the earliest. Did you learn NOTHING from years of not understanding Pairwise? It’s like you’re Lowell Sun. Anyway, it’s time for  Minnesota’s College Hockey Scoreboard Show, where there’s no breakdowns, no analysis, it’s just the scores! It was a wild opening to the new Lee and Penny Anderson Arena on the campus of St. Thomas this weekend, UMD is starting off the men’s season on a heater, while the other Minnesota State, Bemidji State and St. Cloud State all picked up sweeps. The powers in women’s hockey are still that. It’s another week of college hockey action on the ice in the State of Hockey, so it’s time for Minnesota’s College Hockey Scoreboard Show, where there’s no breakdowns, no analysis, it’s just the scores! Division I MenFri: St. Thomas 2, #14 Providence 2 (UST wins SO)Sat: #14 Providence 7, St. Thomas 4St. Thomas’ men’s program opened up its new barn by jumping out to a 2-0 lead on a pair of shorthanded goals against No. 14 Providence, but the Friars tied things up with a pair in the third to earn a 2-2 tie. No. 14 Providence won the weekend picking up a 7-4 win on Saturday night, rallying from a 4-1 deficit to score the games last six goals and leave St. Paul with a victory. Alex Gaffney scored his fifth of the season for the Tommies, who fell to 2-4-1. UMD will open up NCHC play next week in Grand Forks, taking on North Dakota, while the Gophers will have a Thursday-Saturday series at No. 17 Wisconsin to open up Big Ten play. Fri: #20 Minnesota State 4, RPI 2 Sat: #20 Minnesota State 2, RPI 1 In Mankato, 20th-ranked Minnesota State outshot RPI 40-19 as four different player scored as the Mavericks opened up the non-conference series with a 4-0 win. In Game Two, RPI outshot Minnesota State 30-18, but Alex Tracy stopped 29 of those 30 attempts. It was enough as Charlie Lurie’s third goal of the season came 32 seconds into the third period, which was good enough to be the game winner. Minnesota State improved to 3-1-2. RPI is 0-6. Minnesota State will open CCHA play next weekend with a home-and-home with St. Thomas. Fri: Bemidji State 1, Augustana 0, OTSat: Bemidji State 3, Augustana 2Oliver Peer continued his solid early season, scoring his fourth of the year in overtime giving host Bemidji State a 1-0 over Augustana to open up CCHA play. Raythan Robbins stopped 27 shots to earn his first career collegiate shutout. Max Namestnikov scored his first career goal as three different Beavers scored to give Bemidji State a 3-2 win over visiting Augustana to earn the weekend sweep. Bemidji State will head east to take on Bowling Green. Fri: St. Cloud State 5, Alaska Anchorage 2Sat: St. Cloud State 5, Alaska Anchorage 1Five different players scored and Finn Loftus scored his first career goal as St. Cloud State beat old WCHA foe Alaska Anchorage 5-2 on Friday at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. Austin Burnevik scored twice, giving him eight on the season, which currently stands second in the country behind Penn State’s J.J. Wiebusch. Patriks Berzins stopped 28 shots for his second win of the season, while Aiden Welch scored his first collegiate goal for the Huskies to cap off the homecoming sweep at The Herb. The Huskies host returning national champion Western Michigan to open up NCHC play next weekend. Division I WomenFri: #3 Minnesota 4, #4 Minnesota Duluth 0Sat: #3 Minnesota 3, #4 Minnesota Duluth 2Ava Lindsay scored twice as third-ranked Minnesota scored three second-period goals to skate past host UMD in game one of their WCHA series at Amsoil. Hannah Clark made 24 saves for her third shutout of the season. Abbey Murphy scored twice, giving her a nation-leading 14 goals in the first 10 games of the season as the Golden Gophers finished off the road sweep against fourth-ranked Minnesota Duluth 3-2. Hannah Clark stopped 37 shots. Duluth’s Caitlin Kraemer scored her eight goal of the season, which is fifth in the nation. Minnesota heads to top-ranked Wisconsin next weekend, while UMD heads over to St. Cloud to take on the host Huskies. Sat: #1 Wisconsin 4, Minnesota State 0Sun: #1 Wisconsin 8, Minnesota State 0Four different players scored as top-ranked Wisconsin opened up its Saturday-Sunday series with Minnesota State with a 4-0 win in Madison. It was a rough outing for visiting Minnesota State as the top-ranked Badgers closed out the sweep with an 8-rip shutout of the Mavericks. Eight different Badgers scored, and contrary to what you might have heard on BTN+, it’s highly unlikely Minnesota State’s Avery Stilwell was having too much fun in there in goal. Badgers must have loaded up on that Destination Hydration Jump Around Spring Water … or as we used to call it, BadgerMax. Minnesota State drops to 5-5 on the season and will host Bemidji State next weekend. Bemidji was off this weekend. Fri: #2 Ohio State 5, #10 St. Cloud State 1Sat: #2 Ohio State 4, #10 St. Cloud State 2Sanni Vanhanen scored twice as Ohio State broke open a 2-1 game with three third-period goals. Maria Mikaelyan scored her fifth of the year for the Huskies, who were outshot in Game One 40-12. Second-ranked Ohio State rallied from a 2-0 deficit to compete the home sweep over 10th-ranked St. Cloud State with a 4-2 win on Saturday in Columbus. Joye Dunne scored a natural hatty in the third period to give her eight goals on the season. St. Cloud State hosts UMD this coming weekend. Fri: Providence 7, #13 St. Thomas 6, OTSat: #13 St. Thomas 5, Providence 1The women’s debut at Lee & Penny Anderson Arena was an exciting one, but not a winning one for the host St. Thomas Tommies. Despite holding Providence to 14 shots, half of those shots found the net as the Friars picked up a 7-6 overtime win in a wild game in St. Paul on Friday afternoon. Reichen Kirchmair scored four goals, including the game-winner halfway through the extra period. Four different players found the net, including Rylee Bartz, who scored her seventh of the season as the Tommies rebounded from Friday’s heartbreaker with a sound 5-1 win over Providence to earn the home split at the new building. St. Thomas improved to 7-3 and will host Ohio State next weekend. I’m Jason Bryant (@jasonmbryant). Splits and ties dominated the scoreboard over the weekend. We had some old WCHA rivalries rekindled, some in-state scraps and some bizarre flips from one game to the next. But that’s all normal in the world of men’s and women’s Division I college hockey - or so I’ve learned. It’s time for Minnesota’s College Hockey Scoreboard Show. We’ll begin on the men’s side … Wisconsin vs Minnesota State (at Wisconsin)Thu, Oct. 16, 2025: #17 Wisconsin 1, #20 Minnesota State 1 (UW wins SO)Fri, Oct. 17, 2025: #17 Wisconsin 2, #20 Minnesota State 2 (UW wins SO) Mike Hastings got the better of his old team if you're looking for a criteria to break ties. On Thursday, No. 17 Wisconsin and No. 20 Minnesota State skated to a 1-1 tie with the Badgers winning in the shootout. On Friday, it was the same, only this time it was a 2-2 tie with the Badgers scoring twice in the second to tie the game and then winning the shootout. Minnesota State hosts RPI in Mankato this coming weekend in a non-conference series. But you knew that. RPI was non-conference, that is. North Dakota vs Minnesota (at North Dakota)Fri, Oct. 17, 2025: #8 North Dakota 5, #13 Minnesota 2Sat, Oct. 18, 2025: #13 Minnesota 5, #8 North Dakota 1 It was a split in Grand Forks with old friends meeting up on the ice at Ralph Engelstad Arena. Emery scored twice on Friday as the Fighting Hawks reeled off four straight goals to pull away. UND outshot the Gophers 32-15 on Friday. Saturday night was tighter on shots as UND held just a three-shot advantage, but five different Gophers scored to spread the wealth and head back to the Twin Cities with the win. Brody Lamb scored his fourth of the season. Minnesota will host UMD this weekend. Minnesota Duluth vs Bemidji State (Home and Home)Fri, Oct. 17, 2025: Minnesota-Duluth 7, Bemidji State 3 (at Bemidji State)Sat, Oct. 18, 2025: Minnesota-Duluth 5, Bemidji State 1 (at UMD)Minnesota-Duluth picked up a sweep over in-state rival Bemidji State on a home-and-home series. Jayson Shaugabay scored twice while Zam Plante added his fourth of the season to lift Duluth to 5-1 on the season. In Friday's game, the Tommies scored five first-period goals and continued to pour it on the Falcons. Alex Gaffney, Luc Laylin and Josh Giuliani each scored twice in and 11-2 mudholing at Clune Arena. The 11 goals is a new record in St. Thomas' short tenure as a Division I school. Then came Saturday as Air Force bounced back, picking up a 6-2 win to earn the split. Gaffney and Giuliani picked up the goals in the second game for the Tommies. St. Thomas will open up the brand new Lee & Penny Anderson Arena on Friday as the men and women host Providence. St. Cloud State vs Vermont (at St. Cloud State)Fri, Oct. 17, 2025: Vermont 2, St. Cloud State 1 (OT)Sat, Oct. 18, 2025: St. Cloud State 4, Vermont 0 St. Cloud State earned what could be termed a disappointing split in a weekend series at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center, dropping the first game 2-1 in overtime before rebounding 4-0 on Saturday. Both games looked the same, with one exception - the scoreboard. On Friday, the Huskies outshot the Catamounts 46-21, but Sebastian Tornquist's rebound in the extra period gave Vermont the win. On Saturday, all four Huskies goals came on the powerplay, including a pair by Austin Burnevik. St. Cloud outshot Vermont 45-21 in the series finale. St. Thomas is at home to christen its new rink, the Lee & Penny Anderson Arena, against visiting Providence. Some stellar upsets around college hockey over the weekend, but nothing apocalyptic in the Land of 10,000 Skates. You like that? Yeah, I like that too. Here’s the rundown of action from October 9–12, 2025, on this week’s edition of Minnesota’s College Hockey Scoreboard Show. And for the 54th straight St. Cloud State men’s game, local sponsor Jupiter Moon still hasn’t brought me a scoop. At least my kids love it. I mean, I had some at Albany Pioneer Days last summer, but on to the show. We’ll begin on the men’s side … Boston College made another trip to the Midwest, this time stopping in Minneapolis at 3M Arena at Mariucci. The 11th-ranked Eagles came away 1-0-1 on the weekend, taking Thursday’s opener 3-1 over the 12th-ranked Gophers with goals from three different players, including Drew Fortescue’s second of the season on an empty-netter that iced it. On Friday, the game ended in a 2-2 draw, but there were two notable moments — Dean LeTourneau scored his first collegiate goal after going 0-for during his rookie year at BC, and Minnesota won a shootout for the first time since 2020. Even wilder? It’s the Gophers’ first home shootout win in 17 years. Minnesota rekindles its old WCHA rivalry with that school in Grand Forks this weekend at The Ralph. The first series between future NCHC foes went the way of North Dakota, as the 10th-ranked Fighting Hawks swept the home-and-home with No. 19 St. Thomas, taking Friday’s opener 6-2 at The Ralph and Sunday’s rematch 5-2 at the building formerly known as The X. Five different players scored for North Dakota on Friday, giving Dane Jackson his first win behind the bench as head coach. The Hawks repeated the balanced attack Sunday with five more goal scorers. Lucas Wahlin scored in both games for the Tommies, giving him three goals on the season. As noted earlier, North Dakota hosts the Gophers next weekend in what will surely be a spirited series — and that’s just talking about the stands. St. Thomas heads to Colorado Springs to take on Air Force in a series that may or may not be streamed, depending on the status of the U.S. government. Yes, the shutdown impacted stream staffing at Air Force this past weekend. No. 20 Minnesota State split a weekend set in Omaha against their fellow Maverick brethren. In Friday’s opener, Omaha scored four straight to take a 4-1 lead and cruised to victory. Minnesota State flipped the script on Saturday, never trailing in a 4-1 win over the hosts. All five goals came on the power play, with Charlie Lurie’s first of the year officially going in as the game-winner. Minnesota State heads to Madison next weekend to face former coach Mike Hastings and the Badgers of Wisconsin in a Thursday–Friday series at the Kohl Center. State Street Brats and Ian’s Pizza … Love Madison. Scout Truman and Max Plante each scored their third goals of the year as Minnesota Duluth took the first game of its home series at AMSOIL, beating Augustana 4-1. The second game looked a lot different — the Bulldogs outshot the Vikings 40-16, but Augustana earned a 4-0 win to split the series. Hunter Bischoff scored twice for Augie, including one of two third-period empty-netters. Duluth meets Bemidji State this weekend in a home-and-home: the Beavers host Friday’s opener before UMD closes the series at home. Yeah. Bent Paddle. Speaking of home-and-homes and Bemidji, St. Cloud State swept its series with the Beavers, winning 4-3 at the Sanford Center on Friday and 4-2 at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center on Saturday. Austin Burnevik scored in each game, giving him three goals on the season. Oliver Peer scored twice in Friday’s loss for Bemidji, while Nolan Road netted his first career goal in Saturday’s Husky win. Reilly Funk added his fourth of the year for the Beavers. Bemidji’s Adam Flammang was checked hard into the boards early in the third period and had to be carted off. He gave a thumbs up to his bench as he was taken from the ice — here’s hoping for a safe and speedy recovery for the St. Michael native. Guy’s a real gamer. Get well soon dude. On the women’s side, the national spotlight was on the top-ranked Wisconsin Badgers and the fourth-ranked Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs. If there’s ever a case study in snatching victory from the jaws of defeat — or vice versa — check out the final few minutes of  of Wisconsin’s 4-3 Saturday win. Trailing 3-2, UMD was hit with a five-minute major after Badger coach Mark Johnson challenged for elbowing off a face-off - that grammatically sounds painful as it is. After review, Wisconsin went on the power play with an extra attacker, and Caroline Harvey tied it with 20 seconds left. Off the ensuing face-off, Wisconsin won the draw, skated down, and Cassie Hall buried the game-winner 12 seconds later. That game was straight-up drunk. Wisconsin controlled the second game, peppering Eve Gascon with 54 shots in a 4-0 win. The Badgers improve to 6-0 and are unbeaten in their last 33 dating back to last season. UMD will host Minnesota State this coming week. No. 3 Minnesota swept 10th-ranked St. Cloud State in a home-and-home, taking the first game 4-1 at Ridder with four different Gophers scoring, including the first of three goals on the weekend by Abbey Murphy — she now has 12 on the year. Sarah Paul’s third of the season stood as the game-winner as Minnesota broke a 3-3 tie with a pair of goals in the third. St. Cloud hosts St. Thomas next weekend, while the Gophers welcome second-ranked Ohio State. Speaking of the Buckeyes, they swept visiting Bemidji State in Columbus, scoring on four of their first nine shots in Friday’s 6-0 win. Saturday was tighter — Bemidji grabbed an early lead, but Ohio State came back to win 2-1. Hailey Armstrong scored her sixth of the year for the Beavers, while Hilda Svensson netted the game-winner for Ohio State midway through the second. Bemidji State heads to Mankato next weekend to take on Minnesota State. And speaking of … St. Thomas and Minnesota State split their WCHA weekend in Mankato. On Friday, Teagan Kulenkamp scored her second of the year in overtime to give the Tommies a 2-1 win. Saturday went the Mavericks’ way as Hailey Hanson made 15 saves for the shutout, and three different players scored, including Zoe Lopez’s fourth of the season. I’m Jason Bryant (@jasonmbryant). It’s the opening weekend of Division I men’s college hockey and the action around the State of Hockey did not disappoint. The outcomes, however, might have been disappointing depending on who you’re a fan of. Here’s the rundown of action from October 3-4, 2025 on this week’s edition of Minnesota’s College Hockey Scoreboard Show - and there will no overstating the impact of Gavin McKenna’s first weekend of college hockey here. We’ll begin on the men’s side … Eighth-ranked Minnesota opened its season with a split against Michigan Tech. On Friday, Brodie Ziemer scored twice and the Gophers exploded for four goals in the third period to top the Huskies 6-3 at Mariucci. A night later, Tech turned the tables, outshooting Minnesota 33-13 and rallying from a 3-2 deficit to take the finale 5-3, giving new head coach Bill Muckalt his first win behind the bench. Byron native Brody Lamb scored his second of the year, while former Gopher Owen Bartoszkiewicz earned the win in net for the Huskies. Nineteenth-ranked St. Thomas made its season debut with a dramatic 4-3 road win at St. Cloud State. The Tommies built a 3-0 lead on goals from Lucas Wahlin, Charlie Shoen, and Jake Braccini before the Huskies battled back to tie it with tallies from Mason Reiners, Noah Urness, and Austin Burnevik. A late five-minute major proved costly as Nathan Pilling buried the game-winner with under five minutes to play, giving St. Thomas the win in its opener. Minnesota-Duluth opened its season with authority, sweeping Alaska in Fairbanks. On Friday, Hermantown brothers Max Plante and Zam Plante combined for three goals — two from Max — in a 5-1 victory. The next night, UMass Lowell transfer Scout Truman scored twice, while Jayson Shaugabay and Harper Bentz each netted their first of the year as UMD completed the sweep 4-1 at the Carlson Center. Bemidji State rolled through its Alaskan trip, matching a program high with nine goals in Friday’s opener, then finishing the sweep with a shutout. In the 9-2 win over Alaska Anchorage, Connor McLennon and Reilly Funk each scored twice. On Saturday, five different Beavers found the back of the net, including Mitch Wolfe and Tory Lund, while rookie goaltender Max Hildebrand stopped 23 shots for a shutout in his first collegiate start. Over to the women’s side, third-ranked Minnesota stayed perfect, sweeping 13th-ranked Boston University. On Friday, Abbey Murphy scored twice and added an assist, and Bella Fanale netted her fourth of the year in a 5-0 win at Walter Brown Arena. Murphy followed with a hat trick on Saturday, giving her nine goals through four games as the Gophers rolled again, 5-2, improving to 4-0 on the year — and 4-0 against the city of Boston. Minnesota State also earned a sweep, handling Lindenwood in Mankato. On Friday, Northfield’s Ayla Puppe scored twice in a 4-0 shutout as the Mavericks outshot Lindenwood 45-17. Saturday’s rematch was tighter, with Makayla Moran netting the game-winner midway through the third for a 3-2 win, pushing Lindenwood to 0-6 on the year — all against WCHA opponents. Bemidji State collected its first wins of the season with a sweep of Robert Morris. On Friday, three different Beavers scored, including Andover native Isa Goettl, and goaltender Kaitlin Groess stopped 12 shots for the shutout in a 3-0 win. Saturday was all Hailey Armstrong, who scored all four Bemidji goals in a 4-1 victory — tying the school record for goals in a game, matching Kerri McEwen’s mark set back in 1999. What’s coming up Looking ahead, the second weekend of Division I men’s hockey features a marquee matchup in Minneapolis as #8 Minnesota hosts #6 Boston College in a Thursday–Friday series at Mariucci Arena. #18 Minnesota State travels west for two games at Nebraska Omaha, while #19 St. Thomas faces #11 North Dakota in a home-and-home — Friday in Grand Forks and Sunday back in St. Paul at Grand Casino Arena. Minnesota Duluth opens its home slate with a non-conference series against Augustana, and St. Cloud State and Bemidji State renew their in-state rivalry with a home-and-home, starting Friday in Bemidji and wrapping up Saturday in St. Cloud. On the women’s side, #3 Minnesota meets #11 St. Cloud State in a home-and-home — Friday at Ridder Arena and Saturday at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. Top-ranked Wisconsin hosts #5 Minnesota Duluth in a high-profile WCHA clash in Madison. #2 Ohio State welcomes Bemidji State for two, while Minnesota State hosts St. Thomas in a conference matchup in Mankato. Something old, something new, something borrowed and something brewed. That’s right folks, we’re now on board with The Sota Pod, so in addition to shows like Fellowship of the Rink, Judd’z Budz and MNCAA, you’ve got my mild-mannered mid-hockey mind bringing you the quick and dirty from the week in Minnesota college hockey with Minnesota’s College Hockey Scoreboard Show. Just like last time, it’s got nothing of what you don’t need. It’s no breakdowns, it’s no analysis, it’s JUST. THE SCORES. Let’s get to it, as we’re still exclusively playing women’s hockey right now … Third-ranked Minnesota opened its season at home with a dominant sweep over Boston College. On Thursday, Bella Fanale scored twice in her first career game and four other Gophers found the net, including Abbey Murphy, who picked up her 199th career point in a 7–1 win at Ridder Arena. The Gophers outshot BC 48–10, including a 21–0 margin in the first period. Burnsville native Kendra Distad also scored in the opener. On Friday, Murphy netted a hat trick and crossed the 200-point mark for her career in an 11–0 rout. Fanale added a goal and three assists, while Sydney Morrow and Tereza Plosova each scored twice as Minnesota finished the sweep, scoring six times in the third period alone. Sixth-ranked Minnesota Duluth also swept its road trip, shutting out Syracuse in back-to-back games. On Thursday, Caitlin Kraemer tallied her third goal of the year and was joined on the scoresheet by Thea Johannson, Rae Mayer, and Josie St. Martin as the Bulldogs blanked the Orange 4–0. Goaltender Eve Gascon stopped everything she saw for her first shutout of the season and the 12th of her career. Friday’s rematch was another 4–0 UMD victory, with Johannson scoring twice more and Kraemer adding her fourth of the season. Gascon turned aside 13 shots as the Bulldogs returned from New York with a sweep. St. Cloud State split its top-15 matchup with  UConn in Storrs. On Friday, Julianne Labbe scored the game-winner just two minutes into the third period to lift #13 St. Cloud to a 2–1 victory over #12 UConn in front of a program-record crowd of 2,223. The following day, host UConn evened the series with a 2–1 win. Livvy Dewar scored the eventual game-winner late in the second, while St. Cloud’s Sydney Bryant netted her first collegiate goal on a penalty shot early in the period. St. Thomas earned a road sweep at Lindenwood in St. Charles, Missouri. On Friday, the Tommies built a 3–0 lead but saw it erased late before Shoreview native Cara Sajevic buried the game-winner with less than a minute to play for a 4–3 victory. The next afternoon, Keara Parker broke a third-period tie with under five minutes to go as St. Thomas completed the sweep with a 2–1 win. Goaltender Julia Minotti made 27 saves to pick up her second shutout of the young season, helping the Tommies improve to 4–0. Defending national champion Wisconsin opened its year with a lopsided sweep at Bemidji State. Friday’s opener saw Maggie Scannell record a hat trick while Lacey Eden and Kirsten Simms each scored twice in a 9–2 win. Warroad native Kate Johnson and Andover’s Maddie Kaiser provided the goals for Bemidji State. The Badgers closed the series on Saturday with a 5–0 shutout, holding the Beavers to just 12 shots on goal. Scannell added her fourth goal of the weekend while Simms chipped in her third as Wisconsin started its title defense in emphatic fashion. What’s coming upLooking ahead, it’s opening weekend for Division I men’s hockey. #8 Minnesota opens its season at home with a two-game set against Michigan Tech. #18 Minnesota State hosts Lindenwood in Mankato, and #19 St. Thomas plays a single non-conference game Saturday at St. Cloud State. Minnesota Duluth travels to Fairbanks to take on Alaska, while Bemidji State heads north to face Alaska Anchorage. St. Cloud State also hosts Augustana in an exhibition on Friday. On the women’s side, #3 Minnesota travels east for a two-game series at Boston University, while Minnesota State hosts Lindenwood and Bemidji State welcomes Robert Morris. I’m Jason Bryant (@jasonmbryant). The puck has dropped on the college hockey season and it’s a pretty solid start for Minnesota schools. This is Minnesota’s College Hockey Scoreboard show, and just like the old version, this 2.0 version is more of the same - no breakdowns, no analysis, it’s JUST. THE. SCORES. The state’s national collegiate women’s hockey teams went a combined 8-0 on the opening weekend of women’s college hockey. Minnesota-Duluth womenSixth-ranked Minnesota Duluth opened its season with a two-game sweep at Mercyhurst in Erie, Pennsylvania. In Friday’s opener, the Bulldogs rallied from a 3–1 deficit to tie the game late on a power play before Caitlin Kraemer netted the overtime winner for a 4–3 victory. Kraemer finished with a goal and an assist, as did Stillwater native Josie St. Martin. Freshman Molly Cole scored her first career goal, and goaltender Eve Gascon made 15 saves. On Saturday, UMD scored four times in the second period on the way to a 5–3 win. Rae Mayer recorded her first collegiate goal, while Chanhassen native Grace Sadura, Thea Johansson, and Ida Karlsson also tallied in the frame. Johansson did so against her old team. It’s the #CollegeHockeyScoreboard Show for March 6, 2025. This one’s still on the road in Little Rock, but I’m going to cheat tonight. You’re not hearing my voice. I tagged a bot in for this one. But even with a bot, it’s still just the scores.Northeastern secured a 2-1 victory over Merrimack at Lawler Rink.  Cam Lund opened the scoring with a power-play goal in the first period, marking his fifth goal in as many games. The Huskies held their one-goal advantage until late in the third when sophomore Dylan Hryckowian doubled the lead. Merrimack responded with an extra-attacker goal but couldn’t find the equalizer. Freshman Cole Eiserman recorded his second hat trick of the season, while junior Quinn Hutson set a career high with four assists. The Terriers will host a quarterfinal game in the Hockey East Tournament on March 15. UConn wrapped up the regular season with a 4-1 win over Vermont, clinching the No. 4 seed in the Hockey East playoffs. Freshman goaltender Callum Tung made 27 saves, including a key stop on a third-period breakaway to maintain the Huskies’ lead. Greetings from Wichita, home of the ECHL’s Wichita Thunder. It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for March 5, 2025. Postseason hockey is the best hockey, right? Maybe a bit more than the scores as we’re whittling down the teams in the 2024-25 season, but here’s the scores. The stage is set for the Hockey East Championship after two thrilling semifinal matchups. Fifth-seeded Northeastern pulled off a comeback win over top-seeded UConn, 3-1, to advance to its ninth straight title game. UConn struck first on a power-play goal in the second period, but Skylar Irving took over in the third, scoring twice to flip the game in Northeastern’s favor. Junior Lily Brazis added an insurance goal, and freshman goalie Lisa Jönsson made 36 saves to backstop the Huskies - the Northeastern ones - into the final. Their opponent will be Boston University, after a dramatic double-overtime victory over Boston College. Graduate student Lindsay Bochna played the hero, knocking in the game-winner off a rebound to lift BU past BC, 3-2. The Terriers erased deficits of 1-0 and 2-1 with goals from Clara Yuhn and Riley Walsh to force extra time. Senior Callie Shanahan was lights out in net, finishing with 38 saves, including 18 after the second intermission. Northeastern and BU will clash for the Hockey East crown on Saturday at noon, with the game airing live on ESPNEWS. In the NEWHA Tournament, LIU secured its spot in the championship game with a 2-0 shutout over Post at Northwell Health Ice Center. Ryane Kearns put the Sharks ahead just 28 seconds into the second period, and Jeannie Waller added a third-period goal to seal the win. Goaltender Abbie Thompson stopped all 14 shots she faced for her third consecutive shutout, pushing LIU’s tournament scoreless streak to eight periods. The top-seeded Sharks now prepare to face Sacred Heart, who blanked Saint Anselm 3-0 behind a stellar 50-save effort from Carly Greene. Bria Holm, Sami Bowlby, and Grayson Limke provided the scoring to send the Pioneers to the final. LIU and Sacred Heart will battle for the NEWHA championship and an NCAA tournament berth on Saturday at 7 p.m. I’m Jason Bryant (@jasonmbryant). It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for March 1-2, 2025. No excuses. I’m just a busy guy this time of year. Oh by the way, that whole four-overtime thriller in Division III women’s action was at Augsburg, where I spent Friday and Saturday announcing a regional wrestling championship. Anyway. The Gophers and Spartans finished the regular season tied for the title with 50 points. ECAC action saw Colgate roll over Union 5-1, Cornell shut out RPI 6-0, Dartmouth cruise past Yale 5-1, and Brown and Harvard battle to a 3-3 tie before Brown took the shootout. Princeton outlasted Clarkson 4-3 in overtime, while Quinnipiac blanked St. Lawrence 4-0 to clinch the Bobcats’ fifth straight Cleary Cup which goes to the regular season champion in the ECAC. In Hockey East, top-ranked Boston College and New Hampshire finished tied at 1-1, but BC took the extra point in the shootout. No. 9 UConn dominated Northeastern 7-1, No. 17 UMass bested No. 16 UMass Lowell 5-3, No. 7 Providence edged Merrimack 2-1, and No. 5 Maine held off Vermont 4-3. In Atlantic Hockey’s first round, Air Force outlasted Robert Morris 4-3 in overtime, while Canisius shut out Mercyhurst 2-0. In non-conference action, LIU blanked Alaska 2-0. I mistakenly posted an incorrect score on Friday’s recap show. AIC beat RIT on Friday, not the other way around And yes, there comes a time when you have do to that whole mea culpa thing. I make mistakes. Often times, it’s simply reading a box score and transposing some numbers when I write the script. If you’ve ever heard me botch something and just move on - that’s what happens. I’ll either get it the next time through, or I just won’t dwell on it knowing the shelf life of these episodes are usually 24-48 hours. If you heard something here that was incorrect and you went with it - that’s on me. I am a bit of a stickler for fast and complete results, but sometimes I’ll read something on a score the next day, go back and see something and I could have sworn it wasn’t that way when I typed it in. I’m not proud of it. This first season of the show has been a lesson in brevity, self-editing and more importantly education. I wanted to learn more about college hockey and use my skillset that I’ve helped enhance with wrestling to the sport I’ve quickly developed a fondness for. I hate mistakes. I hate boneheaded mistakes even more. Doesn’t mean they won’t happen. But when they do, and I identify the point of failure - whether it be my fault or the fault of whatever it is I’m getting the information from - I’ll still own that it falls on me.
