Anywhere But Backwards

We continue our chapter-by-chapter study of Joshua and look at how the people of God finally cross their Jordan. They grow closer to the promises that God is calling them into, equally they grow closer to the challenges and tests that awaits them in claiming the land that’s rightfully their own. This episode touches on consecrating oneself, what it means to have God the focus of where you’re going and God’s ability to deliver you from what seems impossible. Just as he did for the people in this chapter, he can do it for you. Be encouraged, you will live, you won’t drown as you cross your own Jordan. In this episode we study Rehab. This is almost a moment of pause in the book of Joshua, the bible focuses in on someone the world would deem to be insignificant - a prostitute. Rehab demonstrates faith to the point where she puts her and her family's life on the line. Due to this demonstraion she not only is saved but buys herself into the bloodline of Jesus Christ.  This is an inspiring story that speaks to those who believe their lives are not valuable and they can't escape the depravity or carnage around them. God is able to deliver you out of your situation, his eye is on the sparrow. He hears the cries of those who call out to him without care of who they are or their title. This is a bible study on Joshua 2, it's my prayer that there's something in this text that will convict you. May the Lord keep and bless you. 

We begin our bible study of the book of Joshua. This book documents the people of God entering into a land that has rightfully been for them to possess. God had raised up a new generation to inherit it as the generation that came out of Egypt weren't ready. It's in this chapter we also get introduced to Joshua, he has big shoes to step into, taking over after Moses. This chapter speaks to believers who are stepping into new seasons of their life. Also, those who are ready to take hold of the promises of God and the spirtual blessings by faith. The Lord is requiring us to put our foot down in faith. My very first episode! Before I dive into the book of Joshua I'm taking a look at the way Elisha was called into his purpose. This episode fleshes out the name behind the podcast 'Anywhere But Backwards'  From the text we learn about the faith required to follow the will of God in your life. We learn this through the meeting of Elijah and his future understudy Elisha. Within an instant he leaves his past behind to live out his annointing.  This episode is a bible study on 1 Kings 19 -21.
