Why Can't I Forgive Myself?

Why Can't I Forgive Myself?

2026-10-0601:17:50

Why is it sometimes easier to believe God can forgive everyone else than to believe He can forgive us? You may have confessed the sin. You may have repented. You may know what Scripture says about grace and forgiveness. But when you look back at what you did, the guilt and shame are still there. In this episode of the Raw Christian Men’s Podcast, we talk about why Christians can struggle to forgive themselves even after receiving God’s forgiveness—and what it actually means to move forward without minimizing the seriousness of our past. We discuss the difference between guilt and shame, repentance versus living in regret, consequences versus condemnation, and why continually punishing yourself cannot add anything to what Jesus already accomplished on the cross. We also look at men and women throughout Scripture whose failures did not become their permanent identity—including Peter, Moses, David, Paul, Rahab, Jacob, and others. Their mistakes were real. Their consequences were often real. But God’s grace was greater than their worst moments. In this episode: Why self-condemnation can continue even after repentance The difference between conviction and shame Why consequences do not mean God has not forgiven you What to do when someone you hurt has not forgiven you Why your worst decision does not have to become your identity How God used deeply flawed people throughout Scripture What to do when painful memories return Practical steps for accepting forgiveness and moving forward How your past can become part of your testimony instead of your prison If you’ve ever thought, “I know God forgives me, but I still can’t forgive myself,” this conversation is for you. The goal is not to pretend the past never happened. It is to repent where repentance is needed, take responsibility where responsibility remains, and trust that what Jesus did is greater than what you did. If this episode helps you, share it with another man who may be carrying something from his past that God never intended him to carry forever. Feeling Distant From God

Feeling Distant From God

2026-09-2901:16:27

Why does God sometimes feel distant—even when you are praying, reading the Bible, and trying to follow Him? In this episode of the Raw Christian Men’s Podcast, we have an honest conversation about spiritual dryness, unanswered prayer, distraction, disappointment, and the seasons when your relationship with God no longer feels as strong as it once did. Feeling distant from God does not necessarily mean that He has abandoned you. Sometimes our emotions change. Sometimes life becomes noisy. Other times, God may be revealing areas of sin, misplaced priorities, or spiritual complacency that need to be addressed. We discuss how to seek God when you do not feel His presence, why faith cannot be built entirely on emotion, and how prayer, Scripture, repentance, obedience, and Christian community can help you reconnect with Him. You may feel far from God—but God has not stopped pursuing you. Subscribe to the Raw Christian Men’s Podcast for honest, biblical conversations about following Jesus, spiritual growth, Christian manhood, marriage, fatherhood, leadership, discipline, and the struggles Christian men often face in silence. #FeelingDistantFromGod #SpiritualDryness #ChristianPodcast #FaithInGod #ChristianMen #SpiritualGrowth #FollowingJesus #BiblicalManhood #Prayer #RawChristianMensPodcast
Am I Really Saved?

Am I Really Saved?

2026-09-2201:38:53

How do I know if I’m really saved? Can a Christian struggle with doubt and still have genuine faith? In this episode of the Raw Christian Men’s Podcast, we discuss assurance of salvation, what the Bible says about being saved, and why our confidence must rest in Jesus Christ rather than emotions, past failures, or religious performance. We also examine the difference between conviction and condemnation, the evidence of genuine faith, the role of repentance and spiritual fruit, and what to do when you find yourself questioning your relationship with God. Salvation is not earned by being good enough—it is received through faith in Jesus. However, genuine faith should gradually transform the way we live, think, and respond to sin. Whether you are a new Christian, have followed Christ for years, or are currently struggling with doubt, this conversation will help you examine your faith honestly while returning your focus to the promises of God. The John Ochieng Story

The John Ochieng Story

2026-09-1501:57:05

What does it look like to truly say “yes” when God calls? In this episode of the Raw Christian Men’s Podcast, we sit down with Pastor John Ochieng, a pastor and missionary from Kenya, to hear his story of faith, ministry, and obedience to God’s calling. John shares about serving Christ in Kenya, the realities of ministry, the importance of discipleship, and what it means to remain faithful when following God requires sacrifice, trust, and perseverance. His story is a reminder that obedience isn’t always comfortable or convenient—but God can do incredible things through a man who is willing to follow where He leads. This conversation challenges each of us to ask a simple question: If God calls, are we willing to go?   If you wish to help out John and his ministry, donations can be sent to: Bright Star Foundation P.O. I Feel Like A Fraud

I Feel Like A Fraud

2026-09-0801:08:23

Have you ever had someone tell you they look up to you—and instead of feeling encouraged, your first thought was, “If you only knew…”? In this episode of the Raw Christian Men’s Podcast, we talk about the feeling of being an impostor: believing everyone around you sees a stronger, more faithful, more capable version of you than the man you see in yourself. We dig into the difference between actually living as a hypocrite and simply being a flawed Christian who is still being sanctified. We also look at men throughout Scripture—Moses, Gideon, David, Peter, Paul and others—who wrestled with inadequacy, failure, fear, shame, or the feeling that God had chosen the wrong person. The answer isn’t convincing yourself that you’re secretly good enough. It’s realizing that Jesus is enough. If you’ve ever questioned whether you’re qualified to lead, wondered if your past disqualifies you, or feared what people would think if they knew the struggles behind the scenes, this conversation is for you. #RawChristianMensPodcast #ChristianMen #ImposterSyndrome #IdentityInChrist #ChristianPodcast #MensMinistry #Faith #ChristianLiving #Grace
