Description

”Silver to Bronze: A Marvel Comics Podcast” is a journey through Marvel’s Silver and Bronze Age comics, revisited with fresh eyes. Co-hosts Tony and Scott grew up with stories from this era, but many of the early issues remain unread territory for them. Each episode explores their impressions—both from when they first encountered these comics and how they see them now, decades later. Unlike many discussions that analyze comics through a modern lens, this podcast is about experiencing these stories as they were, appreciating their original context, and discovering what still resonates today. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to these classic issues, join Tony and Scott as they dive into Marvel’s past with curiosity, nostalgia, and a bit of humor.

This week Scott and I are swapping story talk for a little fashion talk, counting down our favorite Marvel costumes from both sides of the law. We made one rule going in: no obvious picks, so the usual headliners sat this one out and made room for some well known faces who don’t always get their due. We each brought a couple of surprises to the table, and half the fun was hearing the picks the other one never even thought of. Kick off your flip flops, get comfortable, and come see whose picks you’d back!    Want to reach out to us? 📧 [email protected] 🌐 silvertobronze.bsky.social
What happens when the Golden Avenger and the Prince of Atlantis cross paths? This week, Scott and I are covering Tales of Suspense #79 and #80, then following the action into Tales to Astonish #82, all from 1966. Stan Lee wrote all three issues, and Gene Colan gives Iron Man and Namor a big, dramatic clash that runs across both titles. Save yourself a seat at our table and come talk comics with us!   Want to reach out to us? 📧 [email protected] 🌐 silvertobronze.bsky.social
Before Carol Danvers ever carried the name, there was a Kree soldier sent to spy on Earth, and this week Scott and I go back to where it all started. We kick things off with Marvel Super Heroes #12 (1967) by Stan Lee, carry on through Marvel Super Heroes #13 (1968) with Roy Thomas taking the reins, and follow our hero into Captain Marvel #1 (1968), with gorgeous Gene Colan art all the way through. Along the way we meet a sharp young security chief named Carol Danvers in her very first appearance, and we can’t help wondering what Marvel was really up to with this cosmic newcomer. Pour yourself something warm (or cool), pull up a chair, and come sit with us a while!  Want to reach out to us? 📧 [email protected] 🌐 silvertobronze.bsky.social
What happens when two Bronze Age kids walk into a comic shop in 2026? This week Scott and I grabbed Fantastic Four #16, Iron Man #9, Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1, Uncanny X-Men #32, and Amazing Spider-Man #35 to see how far our favorite heroes have traveled since the days of spinner racks and cover prices you could pay with pocket change. Fair warning, these books are hot off the shelves, so spoilers are on the table, but mostly it's two longtime fans figuring out what's changed, what hasn't, and what still makes us grin. Pour yourself something cold, pull up a stool at the comic shop counter, and come catch up with us!   Want to reach out to us? 📧 [email protected] 🌐 silvertobronze.bsky.social
What happens when Doctor Doom gets his hands on the Power Cosmic? This week Scott and I crack open Fantastic Four issues 57 to 60, the classic 1966 and 1967 run from Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, where Doom tricks the Silver Surfer and takes that incredible power for himself. With Latveria's ruler suddenly more dangerous than ever, Reed and the team have to figure out how to stop him before the whole world pays the price. Pour yourself something cozy, pull up a chair, and come spend this adventure with us!  Want to reach out to us? 📧 [email protected] 🌐 silvertobronze.bsky.social
