We are heading into the final round of this season by bringing out a show that neither Travis nor Stephen had seen. One of the more modern films from our tour de force of karate legends, it's The Raid: Redemption! Iko Uwais explodes onto the screen in a non-stop adrenaline rush of an action movie. Did we like it? There's regular martial arts and there is the dream of martial arts. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon definitely encompasses the latter. Watching combatants fly through the air with ease as they run across rooftops and sometimes straight up a wall. We've covered a bit of a love story on this show so far, but nothing quite like this. A visual spectacle that truly showcases the best of Asian cinema at the time, this movie broke through the western wall without compromising itself. It's a love story, a revenge story, and a pretty dang great fighting movie. It was hard to rate one actor in this movie since we got to see three of them absolutely own this film. You know we couldn't have a series like this without bringing in The Muscles from Brussels! Jean Claude van Damme is our highlight this week as we head down to the swampy South for Hard Target. Part of a slew of action movies he put out in the early 90s, Hard Target is definitely one of the movies on our list. You might think to yourself, why not choose Bloodsport, which better highlights his athletic prowess. We're just not into being that predictable.
