Gary Donald “Bubba” Blair, a 43 year old from Wallace, South Carolina, did not die in some foreign prison or at the hands of street criminals. He died of thirst on the floor of a feces covered cell inside the Chesterfield County Detention Center on July 24, 2026, after roughly 181 days behind bars. Arrested in February on a misdemeanor impersonating an officer charge during what his family described as a mental health crisis, Blair was later found incompetent to stand trial. A judge ordered competency restoration treatment. It never arrived. Instead the system warehoused him in lockdown while the South Carolina mental health backlog dragged on. Jailers found his body days after a court order that was never executed. A pathologist listed the manner of death as homicide and the cause as “profound dehydration… due to deprivation of water.” He had lost more than 100 pounds. He had a pressure ulcer, pneumonia, and evidence he drank from the toilet. Blair’s own letters, written while he was still alive, describe the conditions in plain language. He wrote that staff were “very nasty to white inmates,” naming the Black jail administrator Troy Ellerbe and former Sheriff James Dixon as sources of an anti White atmosphere inside the facility. The family says contact with him was restricted for months. He tried to reach a judge, the letter came back undeliverable. On the day he was found, the cell floor was still filthy. The Chesterfield County Coroner’s Office eventually recorded the death as homicide after family pressure. Six detention employees, including the jail administrator, have been fired in connection with the case. The same institutions that rush to label every disparity as systemic racism when the identities are reversed have offered nothing here. Don’t call it a hate crime. Don’t call it a human rights tragedy. The rest of the country is expected to move along and treat this as a simple local administrative matter rather than the dynamite that it truly is. Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Michigan, has faced sustained scrutiny over newly exposed connections to the Muslim Brotherhood, designated a terrorist group by several countries and whose Egyptian branch was designated a terrorist organization by the United States in 2025 for supporting Hamas. On NBC’s Meet the Press in October 2026, he answered “No” when asked whether he or his family had any connections to the group.The denials fly in the face of public records and statements from relatives and associates. His half sister, posted on social media in 2012, “My family has long been MB.” She also referenced their mother Fatten Elkomy’s activism with the Brotherhood in the early 1970s while in college in Egypt, noted that family members had been jailed for membership, and wrote of praying for relatives supporting the group in Egypt.El-Sayed’s campaign has also received donations from individuals with documented Brotherhood links, including Abdul Mawgoud Dardery , a former foreign affairs spokesman for the Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party in Egypt and people listed in a 1992 U.S. Muslim Brotherhood leadership directory submitted as evidence in the Holy Land Foundation terror financing trial. And in 2012 he signed an open letter calling on Morsi’s Brotherhood backed government to “purge the media and police.” He had earlier written a 2011 HuffPost column urging U.S. support for Egypt’s revolution while downplaying concerns about the Brotherhood gaining power. His father in law has held leadership roles with the Islamic Society of North America, an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land case. Simon Andriesz spent more than three decades inside the machine, a managing director at BGC Partners, the brokerage Howard Lutnick built and ran before he was handed the Commerce Department. Andriesz said he first flagged account irregularities inside the firm in 2016, a year before he was terminated in 2017, and later told the BBC that commission money set aside for brokers had been diverted to cover other losses. An embezzlement claim the firm has denied. He took the fight outside the building. In 2020 and 2021 he went to the FBI and alleged Lutnick had undeclared ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Documents later released in the Epstein files recorded his further claim that Lutnick “made his money through Ponzi schemes and money laundering.” What he then pulled from the Justice Department’s own dump was harder to wave away. A 2018 email chain in which Lutnick and Epstein discussed Adfin, a start up both men were invested in, undercutting Lutnick’s line that contact ended in 2005 and that there was no business relationship. Andriesz also said the files showed Lutnick, in his words, trying to “buy a prince” . A 2013 proposal to put £1 million toward Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in exchange for introductions to money and sovereign contacts. BGC says that joint venture never happened. Cantor Fitzgerald has denied business dealings with the former prince. Lutnick has since confirmed he visited Epstein’s island in 2012 with his wife and children, years after Epstein’s conviction, and has described his meetings with the financier as inconsequential.Andriesz did not stop at one agency. He sent the material to the FCA, the FBI, and the House Oversight Committee. Weeks before he died he was still saying the personal cost of blowing the whistle, and the retaliation he claimed followed, had been devastating for him and his family. On the 23rd of September 2026 the 57 year old was found dead in Thailand. His family says he took his own life and that there is no suggestion of foul play. The timing has not quieted the questions. British MPs are now demanding an inquiry into how the City regulator treated him after he said the retaliation was escalating and he had been left without protection. The commerce secretary’s office and the firm have not accepted the core accusations. What remains on the record is a former lieutenant who spent years saying the public story of Howard Lutnick and Jeffrey Epstein did not match the emails, the island trip, or the proposed royal introduction and who is no longer alive to press the point.
