Navigating behavioral problems and setting limits with our kids is challenging, but so important. Today, Dr. Jerry talks through some of the tactics parents can use to set limits with their kids, avoid manipulation and how to keep it calmer while doing so. From grounding to putting getting our kids to do the small things around the house, there’s lots of ways to create better compliance and behavior. Through it all, Dr. Jerry reminds us that it’s not just about getting our kids to follow the rules of our families. When we set boundaries, we’re setting them up to follow boundaries and police themselves when they’re grown up and we’re not there to do it.     Don’t forget to subscribe to the show as our discussion on the subject has only just begun. Later this week we will be joined by Tyler Durman and of course our wonderful co-host Christina to continue the discussion.       More from Dr. Jerry Weichman   Podcast Website: raisingfamiliespodcast.com   Website: drjerryweichman.com   Instagram: @drjerryweichman   YouTube: @RaisingFamilieswithDrJW   TikTok: @drjerryweichman  LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/jerry-weichman-ph-d   Facebook: facebook.com/drjerryweichman    Clinic: theweichmanclinic.com      This is a Redd Rock Music Podcast   IG: @reddrockmusic   www.reddrockmusic.com       The content in this video is intended for educational, informational, and entertainment purposes only. Being a dad is hard work, and so many dads from our generation were not raised with the tools or role models to do fatherhood the way we want to. Today, Larry Hagner joins Jerry and Christina to walk through some of the biggest challenges facing today’s dads and what they can do to work on being better fathers and husbands to the people that matter most. On The Dad Edge, Larry gives dads actionable advice for fatherhood and relationships, and he brings that expertise to today’s show. As a dad himself, Larry knows fatherhood isn’t always easy, but he reminds us that wanting to be better is the right start to building the best possible relationships with those we love. Many men today find themselves strained and consumed by the logistical stresses of fatherhood with little opportunity to invest in the emotional development of their lives. Many were never encouraged, and many were discouraged in exploring their emotional intuition by the generations before them, and now see this as their deficiency as a father or spouse. Today Dr. Weichman will explore where these hangups often originate and how you can unlock them to model that strength for your kids.
