The Nimrods dive deep into Kings and Chronicles.David dies and Solomon is anointed. He asks for wisdom, not gold, and proves it when two mothers claim one living child — he calls for a sword, and the true mother would rather lose the boy than see him cut in two. Solomon builds the temple in seven years, then divides his heart among seven hundred wives, three hundred concubines, and their gods. The kingdom splits. Elijah confronts Baal and runs from Jezebel. Elisha takes the cloak, parts the Jordan, and multiplies oil and bread. Hezekiah prays and an angel strikes 185,000 Assyrians. Josiah finds the Book of the Law, restores the Passover, and still cannot turn away the wrath stored up by Manasseh. Jerusalem falls. The temple burns. Exile.Chronicles retells the same history from the other side of the wreckage: the line from Adam to David preserved, the materials gathered, the charge to serve with an undivided heart. Asa and Jehoshaphat win by prayer, then stumble into self-reliance. The books close not on a throne in Jerusalem, but on a pagan decree — Cyrus telling anyone of the Lord’s people to go up and build.Every king rises and collapses. Wisdom is not enough. Reform is not enough. The temple is not enough. Kings and Chronicles leave the throne empty on purpose, pointing forward to the Son of David — Jesus Christ, the true King who never fails, and the Passover Lamb Josiah could only foreshadow.Follow @TheNimrodPod on X: https://x.com/TheNimrodPodFifty Percent Off (Premium Supplements): Use code THENIMRODPOD for 10% off your order at https://fiftypercentoff.com/THENIMRODPOD
The Nimrods dive deep into the Books of Samuel. Hannah dedicates her son, Samuel rises as prophet and last judge, and Israel demands a king like the nations—rejecting God as King. Saul starts humble and tall, then falls through partial obedience: he spares Agag, and Samuel declares that to obey is better than sacrifice. God anoints David for his heart, not his stature. David faces Goliath trusting who has him rather than what he has, spares Saul in the cave as the Lord’s anointed, then in 2 Samuel unifies the kingdom—only to fall hard with Bathsheba and Uriah. Nathan’s parable exposes him, repentance comes, but the sword never leaves his house.Through every rise and collapse, God opposes the proud and exalts the humble. David points forward to the greater David—Jesus Christ, the true King who never fails.Follow @TheNimrodPod on X: https://x.com/TheNimrodPodFifty Percent Off (Premium Supplements): Use code THENIMRODPOD for 10% off your order at https://fiftypercentoff.com/THENIMRODPOD
