Troubles Wrestling

We’re smack dab in the middle of the Summer of 1993 in our voyage through the WCW timeline! This is a special event, as it marks the last one before THE epic wrestlecrap moment in history that comes the next Clash. WCW is riding high right now with the height of The Hollywood Blonds, Flair is finally in the ring, the WCW TV title is consistently having some of the best matches, Lord Steven Regal is starting to gain steam, and oh right Vader and Sid fucking rule! This one was a long time coming, and even with some audio issues I think this is one of the best interviews I’ve ever done. Josh was incredibly open and honest, diving into stuff he’s never really talked about. You’ll get the deep lore on his upbringing in the Midwest, IWA Deep and Mid South, Big Japan, WrestleARTS, NAP, Taichi, TAKA Michinoku, and everything in between! Thanks again to Josh for his time and this definitely is only the first one, not the last one! DISCLAIMERThis episode was recorded literally the day before the Angel Metro vs Gary Jay match was dropped for 102 so we didn’t forget it, it just didn’t exist yet. Needless to say, Chris and I both LOVE that call and are excited for that bout as much as the ones we discussedThis episode is heavy on what we feel are 5 of the best matches ever inside the chains (and way more than just 5 at the end of the day) as well as heavy conversation about the big 101 Sayonara Honey Badger Japan show as well as the big Boston return for 102! Thanks for the love, and keep supporting NHB with merch and tickets they’re easily to me the best deathmatch promotion on earth! This is a public episode. We know it’s just September, and we missed the half year window because we’re busy old men but we figured 3/4ths is better than nothing at all and we have been FIRED UP about what’s happened in 2026! As we take a ride down the winding, bumpy road that is the history of WCW there’s some moments that must be highlighted. The Crockett sale, Flair leaving for WWF, Sting’s first title win, and the first ever Slamboree event? Well it was the beginning of the famed WCW Hall of Fame and perhaps some of the absolute best and worst wrestling we’ve seen so far.
