I'm on Galatasaray Island with Tolga Sagiroglu from Galatasaray USA. They have news about the November 15th gala in New Jersey that hasn't been announced anywhere yet, and it's big. Tickets at galatasarayusa.org. Hadi en buyuk Cimbom! To book your seat at the Gala, please visit: www.galatasarayusa.org
It's derby weekend. I'm going to my third Fenerbahçe derby — the first time I've ever been in back-to-back seasons — and on Monday night at RAMS Park (9:30 PM), I'll tell you three reasons, plus a bonus, why I think Galatasaray win. I also get into my preferred lineup and my score prediction. What's your score prediction? Let me know in the comments — and if you're going to the match, say hi. Hadi en buyuk Cimbom! Galatasaray win their first Champions League game of the season — and they do it on the road, 4-2 at Lille. My first ever Champions League away game, and what a night. Yunus scored in the 2nd minute, Lille turned it around to lead 2-1, and just when it felt like the old story, Batrakov leveled it right before halftime. Second half: an own goal off a Torreira corner and Osimhen scoring against his old club made it 4-2. We didn't crumble. That's the story. The win moves Galatasaray up to 23rd in the league phase — inside the playoff places. From zero points to a playoff spot in one night. Man of the match: Aleksey Batrakov. The fans were chanting his name walking out of the stadium, and honestly, so was I. Jersey giveaway winner: congratulations to Gabriel Pernell from the United States, drawn at random from 178 eligible entries. I'll be in touch by email. Lions Around the World this week: Luis and Marco, who came from Germany for their first Galatasaray game. Want to be featured? Send your video or photo to [email protected]. Next up: the Fenerbahçe derby on Monday at RAMS Park, then Konya on Friday, then Stuttgart in the Champions League. My Stuttgart preview drops Sunday with a great German journalist joining me. Hadi, Mbuke, Cimbom.
Can Galatasaray get their first Champions League points at Lille? With both clubs on zero points after two matches, the pressure is building. French football expert Matt Spiro, host of The French Football Show, joins Brad to discuss Lille’s strengths, weaknesses and why he’s predicting a 2–1 Galatasaray victory. We break down: • What Lille’s defeat at Arsenal tells us • The impact of missing Tiago Santos and Ethan Mbappé • Where Galatasaray can exploit Lille—and which players pose a threat • What awaits the travelling fans at Stade Pierre-Mauroy • Whether Turkish clubs are closing the gap on French football
Galatasaray escaped Ankara with three points, but it wasn't pretty! Deniz Gül's late winner rescued the Lions from a classic Champions League hangover after a frustrating performance against Gençlerbirliği.
I'm back in Ankara for the first time in eight years, bringing you my thoughts straight from the stands at Eryaman Stadyumu!
In this episode of The Galatasaray Show, I discuss Okan Buruk's questionable starting lineup, the team's continued struggles with chemistry, Leroy Sané's disappointing performance, and whether the substitutions came too late. Plus, Uğurcan Çakır delivers a man-of-the-match performance to keep Galatasaray alive!
I also share stories from my trip to Ankara, meeting some wonderful fans of the show, and my first experience taking the Istanbul Airport metro.
And don't miss our newest segment, Lions Around the World, featuring Erhan, a lifelong Galatasaray supporter from South Africa, who shares his family's connection to the club and what being a Lion means to him.
It wasn't beautiful football, but I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss every time!
