TOR live show 8/31Jason Snead - Executive Director of Honest Elections - joins Kira to talk about a new tactic to make an end run around voters...Ranked Choice VotingRanked choice voting (RCV), also called instant-runoff voting (IRV) in single-winner races, lets voters rank candidates by preference instead of picking only one.Voters list candidates in order (1st choice, 2nd choice, 3rd choice, etc.). They can rank as many or as few as they want; they do not have to rank everyone.First-choice votes are counted first. If one candidate has more than 50% of first-choice votes, they win immediately. If no one has a majority, the candidate with the fewest first-choice votes is eliminated. Ballots that ranked the eliminated candidate first are then transferred to those voters’ next-ranked remaining candidate. The process repeats in rounds until one candidate has a majority of the remaining active ballots.Ranking additional candidates does not hurt a voter’s first choice. A vote only moves to a later preference after the higher-ranked candidate is eliminated. Each ballot still counts as only one vote. There is also a multi-winner version (proportional RCV or single transferable vote) used to elect several seats at once so representation more closely matches voter support.RCV is used in places such as Alaska (statewide general elections), Maine (certain federal and primary races), New York City, San Francisco, Minneapolis, and dozens of other U.S. cities.Follow Kira on X @KiraDavisThe Orange Report on X @Orangereportocjustkiradavis.com#rankedchoicevoting #jasonsnead #honestelections #electionintegrity #rcv
‘Them Before Us’ founder and president Katy Faust joins the show to talk about the fight for the right of children to have access to their biological parents. Divorce, gay marriage, surrogacy, IVF…Katy argues these are all constructs that put the needs of children last while elevating the comfort of adults. Was gay marriage a slippery slope? Is there a way to divorce that can actually help a child rather than harming him/her? What’s the big deal about surrogacy?Kira and Katy have thoughtful and sometimes uncomfortable discussion about the comforts of adulthood versus the needs of children. Don’t miss this episode. It will change how you think about family from this point forward.Follow Them Before Us on SubstackFollow Katy on X @katy_faustKira on X @kiradavisjustkiradavis.comThe Orange Report on Substack #surrogacy #gaymarriage #divorce #families #childrensrights

No stream today, but we do have a conversation with Miki Yamashita for you all!Miki is an LA actress and long time friend and she discovered something disturbing when she registered for the California public health exchange. Apparently, the agency is also a voter registration agency and is sending registration forms to everyone who applies. But it gets worse...there are absolutely no guardrails and the agency even admits they don't cross reference the state database. It's another example of baked-in voter fraud and it's happening with the aide of generous taxpayers.
