Description
The LongHer Life is the women's longevity podcast that says the quiet part out loud. Science backed and soul led, in the same episode, from the same person.
Host Brittany Ford is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and the founder of Biohacking Brittany. Every week she breaks down what's actually working for women's health: peptides, hormone testing, fertility and postpartum, metabolic health, mitochondria, nervous system regulation, longevity protocols, perimenopause, and the soul work underneath all of it.
You'll get real protocols with the dosing and the tradeoffs, her own lab results read out loud, honest reviews of what she's testing on herself, and long conversations with the doctors, researchers and founders she actually trusts. No wellness theatre, no supplement she hasn't taken herself.
If you want to feel good in your body now and still be strong at 90, you're in the right place.
Formerly Biohacking with Brittany. New episode every week.

I first heard about Rythmia back in 2018 and remember wishing I could go. So having their Chief Medical Officer on the show was a real pinch me moment for me. If you want to do this work with me, work with me one on one. You can also book a free 15 minute call with me here. My guest is Dr. Jeff McNairy, Psy.D., M.P.H., Chief Medical Officer at Rythmia Life Advancement Center in Costa Rica, the world's only medically licensed plant medicine retreat. Dr. Jeff has spent more than 25 years in mental health in LA and Hawaii, working with addiction, trauma and acute psychiatric conditions, including at UCLA Medical Center, and he leads Rythmia's licensing with the Costa Rican Ministry of Health. We get into what ayahuasca actually is, how DMT works in the body (and why it's released at birth), what a ceremony looks like hour by hour, why intention setting and a safe setting matter so much, and how trauma gets stored and released. We talk a lot about women: Rythmia's number one guest is a woman between 45 and 60 who comes alone, and they have a divine feminine night, a moon ceremony for women on their period, and women in menopause who experience womb healing. We also cover the three Rythmia intentions, psilocybin microdosing vs ayahuasca, who can't come, and how religion fits in. Before the interview, I share my week at SHA in Mexico (full review coming next week), why I'm putting my writing on Substack, and this week's big peptide news from the FDA. This episode is brought to you by The Rhythm Line. RHYTHM NMN is the only NAD+ precursor I take: seven ingredients in one delayed release capsule, third party tested. If you're in the US, get RHYTHM NMN on Amazon here. I TALK ABOUT: 00:00 Welcome, and my week at SHA in Mexico 02:38 Substack, peptide censorship and this week's FDA peptide news 08:13 Why this Rythmia episode is a pinch me moment 13:26 Meet Dr. Jeff: what ayahuasca is and where it comes from 15:53 DMT, the pineal gland, and the DMT released at birth 21:18 What a ceremony looks like: the purge, dosing and intention setting 27:29 What medically licensed means, and why safety matters 32:06 How Rythmia honours women: menopause, motherhood and womb healing 41:33 How trauma gets stored and released 46:43 A word from The Rhythm Line: RHYTHM NMN 52:45 The three intentions, microdosing vs ayahuasca, and who can't come 1:01:41 Ego, religion, and how to apply (including scholarships) RESOURCES: RHYTHM NMN by The Rhythm Line (Amazon US) Rythmia Life Advancement Center Work with me one on one Book a free 15 minute call with me The LongHer Life on Substack The LongHer Life Online Community Instagram @biohackingbrittany The LongHer Life, formerly Biohacking with Brittany, is the podcast for women who want to live longer and better, from hormones and peptides to meditation and energy. NAD+ is everywhere in the longevity space right now, and there's still so much confusion about it. Is it a peptide? (It's not, it's a coenzyme.) Why does it start dropping in your early 30s? And why can't you just swallow it in a capsule and call it a day? If you want to do this work with me, work with me one on one. I see women every week for peptides, nervous system, nutrition and longevity, and you can book a free 15 minute call with me here. In this episode I break down what NAD+ actually does for your energy and repair, then I sit down with Nicholas Signore, co-founder of The Rhythm Line, on the day RHYTHM launched. Nick shares his story, from getting sober almost two years ago to meditation, breathwork and Joe Dispenza, and how buying an NMN supplement that had almost nothing in it led him and his cardiologist partner to build their own. We get into all seven ingredients (NMN, Setria glutathione, CoQ10, PQQ, trans-resveratrol, vitamin D3 and black pepper extract), why delayed release capsules matter when stomach acid breaks down NMN and glutathione, their third party Eurofins results, and how NAD+ IVs, injections, patches and nasal sprays compare to a capsule. My husband and I take RHYTHM, two capsules a day, and we both notice it in our energy. This episode is in partnership with The Rhythm Line. I TALK ABOUT: 00:00 What NAD+ is, why it declines in your 30s, and why you can't just swallow it 02:29 The seven ingredients in RHYTHM 05:28 Why delayed release capsules matter 07:25 Third party testing, and why women's heart health is underserved 11:13 Meet Nick: almost two years sober, meditation and Joe Dispenza 18:29 Microdosing and the default mode network 20:02 Getting ripped off by an NMN supplement, and how RHYTHM started 24:37 Why these seven ingredients, and beadlets vs delayed release 30:34 The Eurofins results: 667 mg of NMN and no heavy metals 34:13 How NAD+ supports energy, recovery and repair as we age 38:31 CoQ10 and PQQ for the heart (and why they're in fertility formulas) 41:11 NAD+ IVs, injections, patches, nasal sprays or capsules RESOURCES: RHYTHM by The Rhythm Line (on Amazon US) Work with me one on one Book a free 15 minute call with me The LongHer Life on Substack The LongHer Life Online Community Instagram @biohackingbrittany The LongHer Life, formerly Biohacking with Brittany, is the podcast for women who want to live longer and better, from hormones and peptides to meditation and energy. GLP-1s are peptides. The P literally stands for peptide. Your body makes its own GLP-1 after every single meal, and it's gone within a couple of minutes by design. The drugs are that same signal, engineered so it never goes away, and that one difference explains both how well they work and almost everything women struggle with on them. If you want to do this work with me, work with me one on one. I see women every week for peptides, nervous system, nutrition and longevity, and you can book a free 15 minute call with me here. In this episode I break it all down. What a peptide actually is, how peptide drugs are built, and what your own GLP-1 does in your body. Then how to raise your own GLP-1 with protein, soluble fiber, healthy fats, fermented foods, meal order and how fast you eat, with real meal ideas (and why fasting doesn't raise it the way people think). Then I go drug by drug: semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy, Rybelsus), tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound), retatrutide, the new oral GLP-1 pill, and generic semaglutide here in Canada. We talk half-life and steady state, what the labels actually say about dosing, what microdosing really means, what's different for women (bone, muscle, fertility and hair loss), and what happens when you come off. I start with a personal story too: I sliced my finger open this week, and how my meditation practice let me regulate my nervous system in the ER. My free GLP-1 boosting recipe booklet for women is coming very soon. Subscribe to the podcast, my Substack, or follow me on Instagram so you hear when it drops. I TALK ABOUT: 00:00 Slicing my finger, the ER, and regulating my nervous system in an emergency 08:50 Why my peptide content is moving off Instagram, and what's in this episode 10:10 What a peptide is, and how peptide drugs are built to last 17:34 Your own GLP-1: what it does, why it's gone in minutes, and food noise 26:30 Raising your own GLP-1: protein, fiber, fats, meal order, CGMs and meal ideas 44:54 Fasting and GLP-1 46:35 Half-life, steady state, and what happens when you stop 53:30 Semaglutide, tirzepatide, retatrutide, the new GLP-1 pill and generics in Canada 1:04:06 Dosing and microdosing 1:10:15 What's different for women: bone, muscle, fertility and hair 1:18:12 Coming off, side effects, and questions to ask yourself 1:22:09 Peptides in food, rhythm vs signal, and the close RESOURCES: Work with me one on one Book a free 15 minute call with me The LongHer Life on Substack (where my peptide content lives now) The LongHer Life Online Community Instagram @biohackingbrittany The LongHer Life, formerly Biohacking with Brittany, is the podcast for women who want to live longer and better, from hormones and peptides to meditation and energy. This is my live masterclass, The Exhale, from September. A few hundred women showed up live, and it's one of my favourite classes I've ever taught, so I'm giving you the whole thing here. We go deep on peptides, longevity and the nervous system, and why the mind and nervous system have to come first before the body work and the advanced tools. I share my own postpartum anxiety story, the pattern I keep seeing in women, and why we can't out-peptide a dysregulated nervous system. Then I break down how cortisol shuts down growth hormone peptides, undoes gut peptides like BPC-157 and KPV, overrides sleep peptides, and why GLP-1s without protein, strength training and nervous system work put your muscle and bones at risk. A note before you press play: about 18 minutes in there's a 12 minute guided future self activation, eyes closed. If you're driving, please don't close your eyes. Just listen, and come back to it when you can sit or lie down. It ends with a full live Q&A: Retatrutide and microdosing, protein hacks and powders, MOTS-c and SS-31, creatine, BPC-157 and TB-500 for inflammation, glutathione, fasting, Kisspeptin before IVF, and labs. If you want to do this work with me, work with me one on one. My three month program is open, I also do one off consultations, and you can book a free 15 minute call. Part one was how to look like yourself again. Part two was how to feel like yourself again. Part three is who you actually are, and it's the one that decides whether any of it sticks. I open with something heavy from this week: I can't talk about peptides on Instagram anymore. I had to archive about 20 posts, my TikTok was deleted, and I've been blocked from DMs for three days. So I talk about building on borrowed land, and where I can still speak freely. Then the three women I meet over and over. The one who knows exactly what to do and still hasn't started. The one who changes for a few weeks and then life creeps in. And the one who's waiting to feel ready. I go into why willpower runs out, why it's cyclical and tied to your hormones, and the five days I took completely off this month while my HRV sat in the 80s. Then what actually builds it: deciding who she is out loud instead of setting a goal, one decision a day that she would make, changing the inputs instead of the intentions, and refusing to do it alone. Plus the question I asked a client this week that stopped her cold: what does it cost you to feel like this for another year? This is for education, not medical advice. If you want to do this work with me, The Spark is open, and there are three spots left. One on one, 12 weeks, future self activations plus labs, nutrition, protocols and peptides.
