Description

Podcast hosted by artist Loren Lewis Cole exploring themes around the vital necessity of artistic practice throughout the stages of our lives.

From the conversation on depression and the 'meaning crisis', to our desire to dance a dance that only we can dance, the importance of creativity, curiosity and play are more important than they've been for some time. As we approach an age of increasing technological enmeshment and disembodied information hoarding, craft and the dexterous skillsets allow us to glimpse an ancient kinaesthetic intelligence that can completely revitalise our lives.

How can we go from a performative mode of engagement with the world to a participatory one? Living from the inside out, sharing what we've come here to share.

Art is medicine. We create art to heal, we heal to create Art.

I'd love to hear your thoughts in this podcast Musings on the phases of the creative process and how, although the mind loves expansive open territory free from limitations, it's actually the limitations that allow the walls of the river to flow, the shape of the thing to be felt, and the fizz of the thing to be communicated with a distinct energy that we can feel our participation within. . In modernity we are sometimes plagued by the concept of infinite anything. But this is the mind taking...

We start on October 26th. https://www.lorenlewiscole.com/pages/the-embodied-artist I've been reading the work of mystic Simone Wiel this weekend. She writes profusely about the weight of attention on our spiritual experience. “Attention, taken to its highest degree, is the same thing as prayer. It presupposes faith and love. Absolutely unmixed attention is prayer.” I can't put down this ...
I'd love to hear your thoughts in this podcast How do we make peace with the effort it takes to truly build beauty, meaning, a world we can actually live in with our senses, our bodies, our relationships, in a culture that seems to relentlessly insist on making our points more succinct, our paragraphs more reduced, and our results achieved by constant 'quantum leaping'? My worldview is formed through craft, not through trends in internet thinking. My mind tends to follow my body, and the chal...
I'd love to hear your thoughts in this podcast Hot off the tension of the work, I'm coming to you here full of tension and emotions in my body, and I use it all for my work. This is a skill anyone can learn, like I've had to, to expand my capacity to hold discomfort and not leak it out of my body. This conscious use of tension is the embodiment of the vessel and the nectar at the same time, the masculine and feminine. the go and the flow. This can take many forms, talking about our work...
