The EEBS are back with special guests Harry from Harry's Horror Books and King Alan. We are discussing Richard Matheson's 1971 haunted house novel, Hell House. This was originally recorded as a live stream on our youtube channel so viewers can comment while we watch. I edited out all of the comments we didn't read out loud but there are some comments left in when it makes sense. You'll see.
Today I am discussing M.R. James occult horror short story from 1911, Casting the Runes. I will also briefly be talking about the 1957 movie Night of the Demon (Curse of the Demon) which was based off of the story. You can read Casting the Runes here: https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/More_Ghost_Stories_of_an_Antiquary/Casting_the_Runes You can watch Curse of the Demon here: https://youtu.be/Jjq2PZjNDK8?si=lUpu9pKEXYVaTKAs
In today's episode I am reviewing the 1975 Black Samurai series entry The Warlock by Marc Olden. It's Blaxploitation meets Kung-Fu meets EVIL. Go check out  @BlaxploitationFanatic  for the real deal Holyfield. Don't forget to stop by Spy Guys and Gals for all of your paperback action reference needs: https://spyguysandgals.com/
Joyride is a paperback original slasher horror novel originally published by Pinnacle Books in 1983 and as of the recording of this review it has been republished and is available for purchase through Fathom Press: https://fathompress.com/joyride It has an introduction by Will Errickson and a brand new hand painted cover by Stephen Andrade. Big thanks to  @FathomPress  for making this obscure and hard to find horror paperback available again! The music at the beginning is by Defend Means Attack who released one 7" in the early 00s
Thanks so much to Gary Lovisi for stopping by and chatting with us about vintage genre fiction and the history of the pulp community fandom. Gary is someone in the game that I look up to and inspires me in doing the Book Graveyard so it was incredibly meaningful for me to get to have this conversation.
