Description
In an overwhelmingly Lefty comedic landscape, right-leaning stand-up Geoff Norcott is a rare beast. In WMPT he gets to the heart of what ordinary people think about social and political issues. Whatever the contentious subject – he’ll be honest and blunt, but without being a dick. Mostly. Guests come from across the social and political divide, including, Romesh Ranganathan, Jonathan Pie, Katherine Ryan, Andrew Doyle, David Baddiel, Konstantin Kisin, Owen Jones and many more. Geoff has appeared on Live at the Apollo, Backstage with Katherine Ryan, Would I lie to You? Have I Got News For You? The Last Leg, Mash Report, Question Time, Mock the Week and pops up frequently on UK political debate programmes. Geoff's book 'Where Did I Go Right?' came out in 2021 and top the political comedy best-seller list on multiple occasions. Geoff also won an operational medal for his five tours performing to British troops in Afghanistan. "One of our most refreshingly funny comedians of any stripe." - Sunday Times "A Right laugh." - The Guardian*

Chris Snowdon makes a long overdue return to review Andeh's first 100 days of office. It was hasn't been like the Starmergeddon, but as Danny Dyer said, 'Who is he?' We then move on to budget-bingo and try predict what boring John Healey will pull out of the hat.
In the Patron only section Chris tries to bring me up to date about nanny state issues, but we end up in an argument about vaping.

Fresh from my Question Time appearance I spill some tea about being on the show, including why Suella Bravermann once got the hump with me. Then it's on to Andy actually making a big decision re the Jackdaw Gas site, and why the Greens were glad to have something climate based to talk about. However, I'm not so sure about him going on Celebrity Gogglebox.

Marcus returns and has some strong opinions on young people who won't work for a living. We also chat about whether saying mental health is the same as physical health is something anyone really believes. We then look over the channel to Paris and ask whether the obsession with right-wing extremism has led to blind spots about what happens when the left gets involved with protests.
In the Patron only section we have a good old gossip about Celebrity Traitors and what it must be like being a comedian on that show.

Was good to have a PMQs this week to crystallise all the big political issues. Is Andy Burnham a PM who likes to 'faff'? Is Kemi the military expert she thinks she is? And are we seeing a general revival in the fortunes of the uniparty?
Elsewhere comedian Shane Gillis copped heat for use of the 'W' word, while Miley Cyrus faced very little clapback for body-shaming half the planet.

The ever classy Simon Evans returns this week to ask what Andy Burnham's game is on Europe. We also look at the Bank of England firing a shot across his speedy boughs. Then it's onto discussion of surprise developments in the US, where we consider the sweetheart deal with Russia on oil and whether public executions could go pay-per-view.
In the Patron only section we analyse Sandi Togsvig's plan for a rival to Wikipedia with a less than snappy name...
