Description

Tactical Pause is a political podcast born out of a years-long group chat between combat veterans.

We’re two veterans connected through our service in the U.S. Army who don’t always agree — but we do believe that politics should be discussed with honesty, context, and an understanding of real-world consequences. These conversations aren’t scripted, performative, or built around talking points. They’re the same arguments and debates we’ve been having privately for years — now recorded.

⚠️ Adult language and unfiltered opinions.

What is America’s Main Street Party, and how is its approach to choosing candidates supposed to work?In this Tactical Pause interview, we sit down with Tom Joseph of America’s Main Street Party to discuss the organization, its community-based candidate selection process, how candidates ultimately reach the ballot, and what the party hopes to accomplish as it develops. We also dig into some of the practical questions surrounding the idea: How are candidates selected? How does this work within existing primary systems? What prevents someone from simply claiming the Main Street label? And when should voters expect to actually see Main Street candidates on the ballot?Whether you're satisfied with the current two-party system or skeptical of alternatives, this conversation offers a closer look at a different approach to political organization and candidate selection.Subscribe to Tactical Pause Podcast for more conversations with candidates, political leaders, organizations, and voices from across the political spectrum.Find out more about America's Main Street Party at https://www.mainstreetparty.org/Link to Collapse by Jared Diamond: https://amzn.to/4apHtqW#AmericasMainStreetParty #MainStreetParty #TomJoseph #TacticalPausePodcast #Politics #ThirdParty #IndependentPolitics #Elections #PoliticalReform #USPolitics
