Your mission is solid. Your operations aren't — yet. Run The Mission is the weekly podcast for nonprofit leaders who know their org could run better but don't have a COO to show them how. Because when operations break down, the mission suffers. Get started: wendlingconsulting.com

Ten hours a week buys sixty quick applies or ten real ones. The standard advice says send more. This episode makes the case for sending fewer, on purpose. We walk through seven yes or no questions to ask before you spend the hour, the signs a posting is a ghost job, and two real director roles in Houston: one worth a pass, one worth everything. Plus a simple weekly rhythm, and an honest look at when volume does work.Read the field note: rolespect.com/apply-to-fewer-jobsRun The Mission is the podcast from Wendling Nonprofit Consulting. A resume scanner does not rank a weak section low. It fails to read it, files what it can, and never tells you what it dropped. A letterspaced heading becomes sixteen one letter words. A two column layout weaves your skills into your job history. Your contact details vanish from the header. In this episode: the five layouts that lose whole sections, why a resume score out of 100 is a guess, and a two minute paste test you can run on your own file today. No tools needed.Read the field note: rolespect.com/resume-headings-a-scanner-cannot-readRun The Mission is the podcast from Wendling Nonprofit Consulting. Other tools promise five times more personalized outreach. But generated notes now read alike, and personalized has stopped meaning anything. Five times more messages makes you five times more of the stream. In this episode, Bradley explains why Rolespect will not write your LinkedIn messages, and what it does instead. The hard part was never the writing. It was choosing who to contact. You'll hear:- The three things a generated note cannot supply- Why choosing the person matters more than polishing the words- How to find people you already know at an employer, without uploading anything- What fits in a 200 character connection note: who you are, why this seat, one question, and an easy out- The honest tradeoffs: more time, less reach, and no guaranteed replyFind the person. Keep the words yours.Read the full article: rolespect.com/why-rolespect-wont-write-your-linkedin-messagesRun The Mission. An AI job agent can find more roles in a minute than you can in a month. Some will even introduce you to the hiring manager. So why are people sending more applications than ever and hearing back less?Because when sending costs nothing, sending stops meaning anything. The applications that still land are the ones somebody chose. In this episode, Bradley walks through four things an agent can tell you, and five it can't. It can match your resume to a posting. It can't tell you if the pay clears your floor, if the seat is really open, or if the job is worth the next three years of your life. Those calls are still yours. You'll hear:• The three lines to write down before you open any agent or job board• How to confirm a posting is real before you spend an hour on it• Why "good match" and "worth it" are two different scores• What to read before anything goes out in your name• The simple log that shows you which sources actually get repliesRead the full article: rolespect.com/what-an-ai-job-agent-can-tell-youRun The Mission. You rewrote the summary. Tightened the bullets. Sent another forty. Still nothing. This episode is the arithmetic that explains it, and it is not about your resume.Greenhouse publishes a benchmark report off its own applicant tracking data. Between 2022 and 2025, applications per job went from 116 to 244. Over the same three years the average recruiting team went from 10.4 people to 4.6. Applications per recruiter went from 146 to 746. Time to fill went from 43.6 days to 59.7, which puts the middle of the market close to nine weeks.Twice the applications. Half the people left to read them. And yet the jobs did not disappear. The Bureau of Labor Statistics put openings at 7.4 million in June 2026 against 7.1 million unemployed, a ratio that has held at roughly one to one since February 2025. The openings exist. The capacity to read applications does not.In this episode:Why week two of silence is almost never a rejection, and what nine weeks to fill actually means for your follow up.The six different things silence can mean. The search has not finished. It went to someone already known. The seat was never live. Your file was never classified. You missed a stated requirement. The application had no owner. Four of the six have nothing to do with you, and they look identical from the outside. Why volume is the symptom rather than the fix. Silence gives you no feedback, so you cannot tell a good application from a bad one, so the only lever left is more. How to make your own record answer the question no employer will. Four fields per application, two follow up dates set the day you apply, and a habit of reading your own sheet every fifth application instead of opening another job board. What this will not tell you, said plainly, including which of the six you got on any single application. Nobody can tell you that.Ninety applications with nothing back is not a verdict on you. It is an unread signal, and the work is making it readable.Read the full field note: https://rolespect.com/why-am-i-not-getting-interviewsRolespect is a free job search field kit.
