Description

**Top 5% Podcast Globally Ranked for Building Boundaries + Escaping Survival Mode + Connecting with God**
Work-Life Boundaries is the go-to podcast for the burned-out, high-performing Christian working mom who knows deep down something is off and needs to change — but feels overwhelmed, stretched thin, disconnected from God and doesn't know where to start.

If you're juggling a demanding career, a household that never stops, and a level of faith that feels like one more thing on the to-do list, you're not failing. You're missing the boundaries the world never taught you to set — the ones that protect your peace, your purpose, and your time with God.

I’m your host, Bethany — Work-Life Boundaries Coach, wife, mom of four, and recovering workaholic. If you’re a woman who is tired of living in chaos and ready to build a life marked by healthier boundaries, more peace and a stronger connection with Jesus, this is the podcast for you. Each week, I’ll share honest conversations, biblical truth, and practical, faith-led encouragement around the things Christian women aren’t always willing to admit out loud — burnout, survival mode, mental overload, lack of routines (or finding your groove in the season you're in), identity loss and the lack of work-life boundaries that keep us stuck.

You’ll find support and simple strategies to help you:
🕊️ Stop striving the world’s way and start resting in God’s way
🧱 Build healthier boundaries that protect your peace at work and at home
📖 Reconnect with daily prayer and Bible reading – in whatever season you find yourself
🔥 Break the cycle of burnout, mom guilt and living in survival mode
💛 Reclaim your identity in Christ before the world tells you who to be

Because the truth is, peace is not going to come from a better planner, trying harder or carrying more. It comes from better boundaries, deeper surrender and a heart posture turned toward Jesus.

So open your notes app and grab your earbuds. Wherever you find yourself in the in-between today, girl, I’m really glad you’re here.

Part 1 of 3: The Ugly Side of Burnout Today I'm kicking off a series I knew I'd eventually have to talk about, even though I didn't want to. It's the part of my burnout story I'd rather leave out, and it's the one so many of you have quietly told me you're living in too. For a long time, the word I would have used for myself wasn't tired, and it wasn't busy. It was angry. And the people who caught the brunt of it were the ones I loved most. In this episode, I take you back to the version of me nobody saw: the capable one with the full calendar, the career, the family I adore, and a body that was braced for the next thing to go wrong. I share how that bracing slowly turned into a short fuse, and why I spent years convinced the problem was who I was, when it never was. I also walk through a verse I'd read a hundred times without really reading it, and what it quietly warns us about. I talk about what finally stopped the spiral for me, the one thing I resisted the longest, and why I believe anger isn't the enemy it feels like.  This is Part 1 of a 3-part series, so stay with me for all of it. Next week, we go inward. Have you ever felt like your body just... won't stand down? Like even in a quiet moment, some part of you is still bracing for the next thing to go wrong? That's survival mode — and if you're a high-achieving woman running on burnout, chances are you've been living there longer than you realized. In this episode, I'm taking you into one of the most undeniable "God moments" of my life — the drive home after I walked away from the career I'd built for over 20 years. Four songs. Back to back. Each one landing exactly where I needed it, in the exact order I needed to hear it. We're talking about: What survival mode actually does to your body and why "wired and tired" isn't normal How God uses the most ordinary moments — a song, a drive, a quiet minute — to reach burned-out hearts Why documenting the moments you notice Him builds a record of His faithfulness you can return to What actually moves you out of survival mode long-term  If this episode stirs something in you, I'd love to help you build those steady rhythms in your own life. Do you keep asking yourself the same question every week — is it me, is it my job, is it just this season of life I'm in? That loop isn't a sign something's wrong with you. It's a sign you've been carrying more than you were ever meant to carry alone. And, if you're a millennial woman, it's kind of the norm right now.  In this episode, Bethany gets honest about her own years of believing success meant doing it all, why quick fixes like a long weekend away never actually broke the cycle, and what it took to finally find clarity — starting with getting quiet. She unpacks Philippians 4:13 (a verse that gets misused often), why the world's pace makes burnout feel inevitable, and how community and accountability play a bigger role in breaking free than most of us realize. In this episode, you'll learn: Why you can't think your way out of a loop you're standing inside Three questions to help you recognize your own burnout pattern A simple weekly practice to build intentional quiet into a packed life Why support and accountability are essential, not optional, to breaking the cycle Ready to break your own loop? If I gave you one more routine, one more boundary script, one more early morning habit... would it actually fix the exhaustion you're carrying right now? In this episode, I'm revisiting one of the tools from Episode 4 that deserves its own deep dive — community. I get honest about what it's actually looked like for me over the last several months, and why I think it's become one of the most important pieces of my own healing. We talk about why high-achieving women resist the very support that would help them most, and what it costs when we don't have it. I also share one small, doable step you can take this week if you've been carrying things solo for too long. Why can we know exactly what we need to do... and still not stick with it? In this episode, I'm unpacking why consistency isn't just a discipline problem — it's a wiring problem. Your brain and body actually believe what you keep telling them, and they respond to it.  I share a story from a mother/daughters trip this past weekend, where I watched my oldest daughter's anxiety completely take over — and what brought her back wasn't a lecture, it was her body coming first, then the truth. We talk about what's happening in your brain when survival mode takes the wheel, why your prefrontal cortex goes offline in those moments, and how that connects back to what Crystal Barnett and I unpacked in Episode 15 about how our bodies keep score. I also give you one simple, repeatable tool for the next time your scared brain takes over — something you can use in the moment, no matter what triggered it. If this episode hits home and you know you need personal support and accountability, my Work-Life Balance RESET coaching call is designed to help you get to the root of what's driving the cycle. In this 1-hour session, we'll take an honest look at what's keeping you stuck in survival mode and build a plan to move forward with more peace and clarity.
