Description
Should I Care? is a weekly online business and marketing podcast with Sophie Griffiths and Ruthie Walmsley, for ambitious women building businesses online around real, busy lives.
Each week, Sophie and Ruthie take whatever everyone in online business is suddenly talking about, from launches and Instagram trends to offers, content, ads and audience growth, and ask the question you're probably already thinking: should I care?
There's endless advice and not enough time to act on it, so they sort the genuinely useful from the noise, with honest conversations, strong opinions and the occasional eye-roll at the internet.
It's not a tips podcast and it's not a masterclass. It's the real conversation behind the polished posts, for women who want the nuance, the context and the bit actually worth taking with them.

This week on Should I Care? we (Sophie Griffiths & Ruthie Walmsley) are back with the final Launch Diaries, & we get into what happens when the launch plan meets real people, real feedback & real numbers, and whether changing it halfway through is the smart call or the flaky one (Plus a Gothenburg spa review first.)Most of us plan a launch like a straight line, & then someone says something in a DM, or the numbers land differently to how we pictured them, & we either dig in because we said we would or bin the lot. This is the final Launch Diaries, recorded with one of us mid-sprint & the other just out the other side of a 12-month programme launch, & neither plan looks quite like the one we started with. The numbers were good on both sides & we still managed to find plenty to wrestle with.In this episode:The 1 post that brought in 28 of Ruthie's 65 sign-ups, & why a storytelling post doing that surprised herThe price objections Ruthie never saw coming, from about 15 people who took the time to message, & the reply she wanted to send but didn'tThe comment from Sophie's husband that sent her to a café on a Monday morning to rewrite her sales pageProject 33: the extra 33K one mastermind client needed before the end of the year, & what it did to the way Sophie thinks about selling all the timeThe launch Sophie had planned for after the sprint, & the 2 reasons she's swapped it for something elseNew episodes every Tuesday.Follow Sophie: @sophiegriffithsco & Ruthie: @firstpersonnarrativeWhen you're ready, here's the next step:Outrageous – for established women coaches and service providers who want one offer designed to hit 6 figures without them being the engine of every sale. This week on Should I Care? we (Sophie Griffiths & Ruthie Walmsley) get into growing your audience, & why some ways of doing it get a round of applause while others get called a bit thirsty. On paper it's simple. You buy an audience, you borrow someone else's or you build your own. In real life most of us end up doing a little bit of everything & none of it particularly well, with half an eye on whether it'll look a bit desperate. Nobody expects to be paid for going on a podcast, so what about a workshop inside someone's membership, & are you allowed to pitch at the end of it? And with the backlash doing the rounds about people paying 25K to speak on a stage (we've only caught it second-hand, so this isn't a verdict on the event), is that really so different to paying for ads?Ruthie's launch closed the day before we recorded, Bloody Good Story Club doesn't open again until April & she needs more people in her world before then, even though a bigger audience scares her a bit (she still removes Instagram followers who don't look like her ideal client). Sophie has tried most of the options, paying to be on a stage included, & has opinions on which order to do them in.In this episode:The 6-month speaking mastermind Sophie joined to get herself on a stage & what she decided about stages afterwardsThe membership with 500 people in it, the guest workshop, & the 3 who turned up to the callThe 3 sets of people in the room at any event, the 2 when you run an ad, & Ruthie's take on which of them ends up losing outThe book Ruthie keeps thinking she should write, the stages Sophie still gets a pang about, & the question we both had to ask ourselves about whyThe £500,000 Sophie's business has made since the start of 2025, the goal she's set for next year, & the 1 thing she's adding to get there that isn't more ads or more launchesNew episodes every Tuesday.Follow Sophie: @sophiegriffithsco & Ruthie: @firstpersonnarrativeWhen you're ready, here's the next step:Outrageous – for established women coaches and service providers who want one offer designed to hit 6 figures without them being the engine of every sale. This week on Should I Care? we (Sophie Griffiths & Ruthie Walmsley) are back with the Launch Diaries, recorded the morning after we both ran our workshops, & we get into the hours straight after a launch event, when the numbers are perfectly good & your brain has decided otherwise.Because most of us know the standard show-up rates & conversion rates off by heart, we've walked clients through them a hundred times, & we'll still judge ourselves against a launch that made 250K in its first hour. Sophie had 226 sign-ups & a show-up rate below what she's used to. Ruthie had 64 sign-ups, all organic, far more than she'd hoped for, & within minutes had her phone calculator out working out what it would mean if every single one of them joined. So we talk about the gap between a launch that's realistic for the size of your audience & the ones filling everyone's feed, & why we're both posting through ours mid-wobble, without the neat bow at the end. Plus a quick debrief on our in-person day in Winchester (& a lake that was a lot colder than it looked). In this episode:The 90-minute offer Sophie sold inside her workshop, the 5 people who bought on the call, & the exact point after which nobody else didRuthie's 4 minutes of accidental recording, a Bubbles notetaker & the one name she didn't recognise in the waiting roomThe £60 a month maths Ruthie did on 64 people, & how one little thought rewrote every target she'd set herselfWhat Sophie didn't do this time that she always does to get people turning up live, & the show-up rate that came out of itThe 3 mega launches Sophie picked apart for her workshop, including a wait list of over 100,000, & what they all had that most of us don'tNew episodes every Tuesday.Follow Sophie: @sophiegriffithsco & Ruthie: @firstpersonnarrativeWhen you're ready, here's the next step:Outrageous – for established women coaches and service providers who want one offer designed to hit 6 figures without them being the engine of every sale. This week on Should I Care? we (Sophie Griffiths & Ruthie Walmsley) get into the idea that if your business feels hard, you must be doing it wrong, & why we think it's one of the least helpful stories doing the rounds online.Somewhere between the laptop-by-the-pool content of a few years ago & the "I only work school hours & still make Pilates" version we're all being shown now, most of us picked up the belief that a business done right should feel easy. So when it feels heavy, or sticky, or just a lot, it's very tempting to decide something's broken & go looking for a different plan.Sophie is 9 years in, with ads, recurring revenue & support on the client side, & she's still building a brand new workshop & 5-day offer from scratch this autumn. Ruthie built a done-for-you business in the middle of lockdown & is now deep in the bit between that & a group programme that pays its way. Plus our Launch Diaries update: 70 sign-ups, about 35 sign-ups, & the Instagram posts neither of us can make ourselves write. In this episode:Sophie's "if a post doesn't feel good, it won't do well" theory, right 9 times out of 10, & what Ruthie thinks it's missingWhat changed at home last year so Sophie could keep her 7am gym class, & the pressure that came with itThe £14k done-for-you months Ruthie built in lockdown, & the day Tone came home & a slow career break turned into working till 8pmBloody Good Story Club at 11 members & £60 a month, & the maths that gets very sweary once you ask how many people it would needWhy low ticket offers are the hungriest of the lot, & the "which poison are we picking" question Sophie asks before anyone chooses a modelNew episodes every Tuesday.Follow Sophie: @sophiegriffithsco & Ruthie: @firstpersonnarrativeWhen you're ready, here's the next step:Outrageous – for established women coaches and service providers who want one offer designed to hit 6 figures without them being the engine of every sale. This week on Should I Care? we (Sophie Griffiths & Ruthie Walmsley) get into overcomplicating your launch, which is one of the easiest things in the world to do and pretty much always comes from the best of intentions.Because nobody sits down and decides to build a six-step funnel. It starts with one completely reasonable thought: maybe I'll add a workshop. Then a small paid offer to warm people up for the workshop. Then a wait list, then an early bird, then a fast-action bonus, and somewhere in there you're mapping a 12-email sequence for a thing nobody has bought yet, and you still haven't sold the offer you started with.Sophie is doing exactly that this autumn, a workshop into a mini offer into Outrageous, spread across two whole months, and she'll be the first to tell you most of her clients shouldn't copy her. Plus a launch diaries mini update from both of us: 44 sign-ups, 26 sign-ups, and the promo posts that landed with a thud in between. In this episode:The first promo post that got zero comments, & the email sent at exactly the same time that brought 25 sign-ups in an hourRuthie posting at half 10 at night while brushing her teeth, & the 26 people who signed up for a week she'd only decided on that afternoonWhy we can both tell you the exact stats on every post & neither of us has checked an email open rateThe tripwire maths nobody does: 10% of your sign-ups is 2.6 people, & what that means for the rules you're building your business onThe launch 5 years ago where the bonuses genuinely worked, brought loads of people in, & then left almost nothing behindNew episodes every Tuesday.Follow Sophie: @sophiegriffithsco & Ruthie: @firstpersonnarrativeWhen you're ready, here's the next step:Outrageous – for established women coaches and service providers who want one offer designed to hit 6 figures without them being the engine of every sale.
