Description

Unprocessed with Chef Aran Goldstein.

Michelin-trained chef turned school cook. Aran left restaurant life because he couldn't stomach what the system was feeding kids. Now he's helping parents get back in the kitchen, nourish their families, and slow down around the table.

Each week he talks with thought leaders who are done waiting for permission to live differently.

Sharpen your knives and your focus. Let's get cooking.

I’m so excited to share another episode of Unprocessed with you.Today’s conversation is with Heather Elliott, founder of Mindful Change and creator of 5D Psychology. Heather trained in traditional psychology and spent years as a teacher before stepping away to follow a different path, one that looks beneath the surface of our thoughts and emotions to understand the beliefs that are actually shaping our lives.I had a session with Heather before we recorded this conversation, and it stayed with me. There’s something about the way she works that gets underneath the story you think you’re dealing with and starts asking a much deeper question: what is the belief underneath it?In this conversation, we go deep into the conditioning we pick up from our parents, our families, school, and society, and how those voices can quietly become the stories we carry around with us. Heather explains how emotions can be the surface of something much deeper, and why changing the underlying belief can change the pattern itself. We talk about why people can spend years trying to understand themselves and still find themselves repeating the same patterns, the difference between knowing your story and actually changing it, and the strategies we develop to protect beliefs about ourselves that may no longer serve us.There are some pretty big questions in this one. What if the things limiting us aren’t actually who we are? What if so much of what we believe about ourselves was learned before we were old enough to question it?Heather is a badass, deeply thoughtful, and just so cool. I loved this conversation, and I think there’s a lot in here to sit with.👥 Join the What Feeds Us community on Substack for recipes, reflections, and real conversation.👉 https://chefarangoldstein.substack.com/📱 Follow along on Instagram for more of the day to day.👉 @chefarangoldstein#UnprocessedPodcast #HeatherElliott #5DPsychology #Psychology #SelfAwareness #PersonalGrowth This is a public episode. Today’s conversation is with my friend Jason Hickey. Jason is a husband, a father, a professional poker player, and a coach. But what really drew me to this conversation is his honesty about the work of becoming who we actually want to be.We talk about addiction, healing, discipline, fatherhood, and what it means to build a life from the inside out. It’s a conversation about presence more than performance, and about remembering that the people we love most don’t need us to be perfect — they just want the real, authentic, present version of ourselves.👥 Join the What Feeds Us community on Substack for recipes, reflections, and real conversation.👉 https://chefarangoldstein.substack.com/📱 Follow along on Instagram for more of the day to day.👉 @chefarangoldstein#UnprocessedPodcast #JasonHickey #Addiction #Healing #Fatherhood #Discipline This is a public episode. Today’s conversation is with my dear friends Steve Coughran and Jamie Davidson. Through their work, they help couples build strong relationships rooted in faith, personal responsibility, and a deeper understanding of the masculine and feminine. We explore true partnership, parenting, and what it looks like to intentionally create a life that really reflects your values. For Steve and Jamie, it’s the road far less traveled. It’s a life of texture, and it’s included lots of border crossings in Central America and, currently, lots of chopping wood in rural Montana.🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Join the What Feeds Us community on Substack for recipes, reflections, and real conversation.👉 https://chefarangoldstein.substack.com/📱 Follow along on Instagram for more of the day to day.👉 @chefarangoldstein#UnprocessedPodcast #SteveCoughran #JamieDavidson #Relationships #Parenting This is a public episode. Today’s conversation is with Janet Flores Pavlovich, the force of nature and founder of Coyotas, the best tortillas on the planet. Janet grew up in Hermosillo, Sonora, the birthplace of the flour tortilla, and has spent years exploring how to restore dignity to traditional foods and the lineage of women who have nourished generations. We talk about preserving culture through food, the importance of clean ingredients, and why looking back at the wisdom of our ancestors is essential to help us feed our families better today. And in that wisdom lies reverence, simplicity, and beauty worth preserving.🧵 Join the What Feeds Us community on Substack for recipes, reflections, and real conversation.👉 https://chefarangoldstein.substack.com/📱 Follow along on Instagram for more of the day to day.👉 @chefarangoldstein#UnprocessedPodcast #JanetFlores #Coyotas This is a public episode.
