I caught up with Luke and Dom from Flamingo Pier to talk about their upcoming tour for the latest LP, Woven Together.Woven Together reflects the emotional rhythm of everyday life, exploring the highs and lows that connect us on the dancefloor and beyond.I love the sentiment behind Woven Together and the idea of music creating connection and community.Woven Together was created and recorded at home in Aotearoa, celebrating the community of artists and collaborators over the past decade of Flamingo Pier.It was great to learn more about the early days of Flamingo Pier. I hope to catch you all on the dance floor this October! Tickets are on sale through Banished Music, the full LP Woven Together is scheduled for release on the 9th of October.
In the eighth episode of Method, I chat with Sarvi. Sarvi is a solo artist located in Tāmaki Makaurau. Her first release was in 2023, when she was creating music with The Winch. Sarvi now releases music under the management of Good Twin, located in London. We talked through Sarvi's start into creating music with The Winch and the evolvement of her creative process across the years, alongside her recent release Snake Charmer and her time at the APRA SongHubs.Sarvi is reflective in this interview of the challenges she faces personally as an artist and I really respected her vulnerability and openness throughout our conversation. She has such a beautiful soul with an immense amount of talent and I can't wait to see what the future holds for her.
I caught up Tāmaki local singer-songwriter Paige last week to discuss her new single Hypocrite. This release marks a turning point for Paige as she moves into becoming an independent artist after 8 years with Sony. Paige has multiple Aotearoa Music Award nominations, among many other accolades. It was so fun to chat to Paige about the creation of Hypocrite and her feelings around progressing her career as a fully independent artist. You can stream Paige's music on Spotify, Apple Music & YouTube now.
Martyn is an award winning music journalist from Wellington. The more immersed I became into the New Zealand scene, the more I would see Martyn's name popping up on my phone, and I mean that in the biggest compliment!Martyn is a huge advocate for local artists and an incredibly talented writer. It was a joy to listen to him speak about his career to date.Check out his instagram for links to his latest articles.
In the fifth episode of Method I chat with Logan Edwards. Logan has been in a few bands across his time, but recently launched his self titled solo project in June, with his first EP "Belong to Someone Else". Logan talks about his creative process behind "Belong to Someone Else", which involved a week in 2025 where he had a need for an outlet to help him navigate a difficult period in his life. I cherished his vulnerability throughout his EP, and that same vulnerability is so present in our interview. You can stream "Belong to Someone Else" on Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal. Check out Logan's instagram for footage of his tour in July.
