This is the message only portion of our Sunday service. For the full service please visit www.vimeo.com/calvarynexus There is an expression, “Familiarity breeds contempt.” It is the idea that generally the more you know about a person, the more likely you are to lose respect. On the other hand, the more you know about Jesus the more amazed you will be. You will be motivated to follow Him for who He is and what He has done.

1 John 4:9-11

Jesus entered our world to reveal God’s love. God entered our world and became a man to redeem humanity to Himself. Redemption is taking action to save from error or evil. God’s love has an ultimate redemptive purpose. Without Christmas, there would be no Good Friday, and no Resurrection Sunday. Our culture tends to equate “love” with sentiment, attraction, and random acts of kindness, but Jesus reveals a love that is so much more, so that we can become so much more.
