Notes is a podcast where I ask people to read the notes they wrote on their phones. Then all I do is ask "Why did you write that?" ---- Joshua Banbury is a talented Opera and Jazz singer based in NYC. Have you ever met someone and immediately thought “oh thank god, my people exist!” that’s how it felt when i met maxine. humble, thoughtful, and quite. not quite in a shy way, quiet in a calm friendly way. in one day there will be one hundred people who ask me “how are you?” and i’ll say “good” to all one hundred. but if maxine asks, i might tell her the real answer.  during note #2 maxine says tells us about the first and last time she hit a bong. she says “i don’t do drugs” and  “i’m a very anxious person.” personally i identify with this feeling in 3 ways i’m a very anxious person  pot makes me anxious  people think i’m not i’m not anxious  even though i’ve only known maxine for a month i would never describe her as anxious. i’m not sure if it’s a good thing for an anxious person to “pass” as a calm person but but i think we all need to be reminded that a persons surface doesn’t always match their insides.  during note #3  even though maxine describes herself as anxious and i describe her as “quite” maxine chose to read notes where she sticks up for herself and other people. she avoids driving uber because it makes her feel unsafe, she spends an entire day helping her girlfriend change her passwords, she watches tv shows that stick up for “fat people” and she can admit to herself that she only smoked to “seem cool”  is anxious? yes.  avoidant? not at all.  i admire that.  In Super Mario Brothers Mario is the brave one and Luigi is the neurotic one. We respect Mario and we pity Luigi. We respect Mario so much that the pair is referred to my Mario’s first name “the mario brothers.” rather than their surname but lemme ask you. what’s more brave? a confident person who goes to fight a dragon or a neurotic person who goes to fight the same dragon.  this is episode 3 of notes

I found The Timestamps Guy on Youtube in the comment section of a Joe Rogan interview with David Blaine. The Timestamps guy comments on those videos and leaves detailed timestamps for different points of conversation in the interview. Since Joe Rogan interviews can be 3 hours long providing timestamps can really help the viewing experience if a listener wants to go to a specific story or topic. At the end of the list of timestamps was a short pitch to check out his YT channel that featured DJ mixes. I listened and they were good! Anyway, I thought the timestamps thing was such a great idea to provide value to the people you're advertising to. I just had to get him on the show. He had a lot of great things to say!
