You are not morning.
You are late afternoon. And that's why
beings love you.
You are the warmth of a thing past its peak,
the growing fuzz of possibilities for transformation
from the light's late gaze into something
less clear.
You are a meadow caught by a sudden
dazzle of solar photons, lazy
and majestic.
You don't hold promises,
or negotiate means of keeping them.
You are the scuppered sound of a rower's oars
kissing the tops of the waves
as they recede.
You are the gentle gleam
on the belly of the plane
as it hums by.
You are not night. Your warmth may last
long into darkness, but you are not that mystery.
You are not the hard-baked glory of noon.
You are the late gold miners chased
but never found in solid form.
You are the late afternoon.
And that's why we love you.

"Being menial, how do we let vastnesses strike through
Our fastened nerves, or see -- being the ordered smallesses
We are -- the whole spill, squeeze and boiling without
Losing heart, mind, or being
Insinuated -- hugged or struck into the unwanted
Northless utmosts, the Southless balconies between
Gables of dust, rotundas of sun? Can it be our comfort's
Derived from our dumbness?"
- from "The Fractal Lanes" by Alice Fulton

Always thanks to Wesley Holmes, Erin O'Conner-Drew, Jeremey Linden, Kadeejah Streets, Jenö, Lee Burridge, Brother Michael and the playa.
My summer 2018 house music podcast for the illustrius Flammable Seattle crew. Many thanks and much love to Wesley Holmes & Flammable, Erin O'Conner-Drew, Moodymanc, Jenö, Kadeejah Streets, and Chris Howarth for support and inspirations. In memory of Maya Angelou, Loleatta Holloway, and Aretha Franklin.
Psychedlic Love Affair: Discoherence
Discoherence: phenomena seemingly going out of phase so they can come into greater alignment later. Repeat and stir, ad infinitum. This was initially a fall mix--about the psychedelic beauty of decay--but it slowly became a solstice/new years coming-of-the-light endeavor. So I imagine decay prefacing greater order, and a coming back into light. For all of us. (Yes, that's a little north hemisphere-centric. You'll get yours soon enough!)
Mad love and thanks to (and tracks occasionally shamelessly sourced): Mira, Gingko & Andy Warren, Kinjo & Miles Mercer, Jëno, Chase Cuntersson, and Colisciousbou; and ALWAYS love and thanks to the fabulous new daddy Wesley Holmes, Erin O'Connor-Drew, Kadeejah Streets, Grffn Girl, Scott Burdette, bucket & Randy, Deano, Robbie & Brooke and everyone who encourages me to be me.
spaceotter live on BAAAHS (Big Ass Amazing Awesome Homosexual Sheep artcar), Friday night at Burning Man 2017.
I played that night with Bezier (Honey Soundsystem), Rebolledo (Mayan Warrior), La Fraicheur (Bottom Forty/Leonizer, Berlin), and Nark (Bottom Forty, Seattle). It was quite the evening.
My fairly infamous, genre-spanning set at Electric Tea Garden for Proper, 2-2-13.
Coeffulgence: shining in radiant splendor, together. Born of the idea that our centers are connected, and that all beings co-evolve, despite surface seeming. See also: Immanence, radiance, interconnection.
Psychedelic Love Affair: a sensual, erotic, musical, psychedelic broadsides against the state of despair. A series of mixes and future parties, where you can dance, touch, undress, massage, make out, make love and basically do what you erotically want to, while suffused with psychedelic music. #mostlywarmweird
Thanks to Ben/Konifer and Lisa/ELLEM, Mark Lippert, Hanssen, Jenö, and Miles Mercer & Kinjo of Grounded...as well as ALWAYS to Erin O'Connor, Wesley Holmes, Kadeejah Streets, Night Train & Innerflight for inspirations, camaraderie and beloved interactions. Big love to all my radical faeries and burners as well.
(Based on my live set at Grounded's "All Due Respect" party at Woodsky's in Fremont, Seattle on June 25, 2017, with some embellishments.)
Live at the Seattle Erotic Art Festival Pride Afterparty at Fremont Studios, 6-22-12. Opening for the glorious Pezzner.
My intention for this mix was to create a psychedelic battering ram to the current state of horror and despair. A way of break through to a better Spring.
* Thanks to visual collaborator Brian Akey for the incredible graphics! Instagram: bakey_graphics
* Love to the Radical Faeries who inspired so much, including the concept of the Psychedelic Love Affair--imagined as a party where you can dance, make out, relax, fuck, do yoga, sleep, massage, eat, thrive, live, exult, empty out, fill up again...all to gorgeous melodic music on the psychedelic edge of house and techno. #WarmWeirdMostly.
* Mad love and endless respect to Jenö, Lily Ackerman, Roman Flügel, the Mayan Warrior, Ginkgo, Jerry Bonham, Powel, and especially Lee Burridge (and Robot Heart) for exposing me initially to so many of the flavors I used here.
* Mad love to giraffe Mark Lippert for concept consultation; to Erin O'Connor-Drew, Wesley Holmes, Kadeejah, Finn, Biggie and Scott Burdette for the love and support.
* Quote from my favorite play & movie, John Guare's "Six Degrees of Separation."

Test mix for November introversion. Drifty & deep & meditative.
