What a year! Remember how 2020 started a brand new decade, but it feels like several decades have passed in the 3 months since?? It is so easy to feel like it's all out of control. It's easy to feel overwhelmed and concerned. But in this season of uncertainty, there is hope to be found if you know where to look.There's actually a Star Wars movie titled "A New Hope." It's Episode 4. Have you seen it? Of course, you have. Because you're a person with a pulse. But if you are a rare, mythical creature who somehow hasn't, watch it. (The world is on lockdown so you really have no excuse). In the world of Yoda and Obi-Wan, "The Force" is this invisible field of energy that exists in all life. And the Jedi Knights learn how to harness its power to do incredible things like levitating objects, altering the mind of the weak-willed, and forecasting the future. Jedis use The Force to defend the greater good - fighting evil in the universe while seeking harmony, peace, and justice.What would you say if I told you "The Force" is real? It actually exists. AND you don't have to be a Jedi Master to harness it's potential. Perhaps there is more you can control than you realize.Darth Vader said it best: "The force is strong with this one." There is something so invigorating about embarking on a path you have never been on. About dreaming big and fantasizing about obtaining new levels of accomplishment. But for some of us, it seems like we embark down the same path time and time again. Making the same goals, the same resolutions and never actually accomplishing a dang thing. I mean, how many times have you decided to eat all the kale and drink all the water... then 4 days and 500 trips to the bathroom later you jump ship?We fall in love with the idea of possibility! But it doesn’t take long for the adrenaline of ambition to fade away into the reality of hard work. You know that goals are good, and you probably have a lot of them. But when it comes to the implementation, you fizzle out in frustration. It feels like you are trying to run in quicksand. You fall short. Start over. And fall short again. Yet we continue in the cycle. We create goals only to give up on them shortly after. Lather, rinse, repeat. Does that sound familiar? Cool.
