In this season's penultimate episode, Tim counsels Matt to give up all of his convictions. Better to win than to lose with your integrity. Wait that can't be right... Anyways, text Matt and tell him who to vote for.
Matt and Tim debate the merits of freedom and safety. How much power should be distributed between citizens and their government? Did America handle the pandemic appropriately? How much did Joe Biden pay in taxes? Would you rather be a Pilgrim, a Pioneer, or a Frontiersman? Is government actually a good thing from God? Text Tim (850) 288-9816 your personal answers to these questions after you listen to this week's episode! (And for a fun game, don't tell him who you are!)

THE MORAL MINORITY

This week, the Unpaid Interns set out to win the culture war...possibly by not fighting it? Monks, emperors, kings, popes, fascists, and communists all help set up their arguments. Tim claims Liberty to be the perfect school for his children, and Matt wants to be in the world and not of it. And yes, we still listen to Bethel music.
The interns are back! Their mission, should they choose to accept it: argue about politics without being obnoxious. Impossible? Maybe. Educational?  Hardly. Entertaining? Indubitably. In this season's opener, Matt and Tim tackle the wickedness of the heart, the luckiness of being alive, the influence of French and Irish political philosophy, and how to survive in the wild.
In the season finale, Matt and Tim tie the season's overarching themes together by applying them to five practical issues. By exploring post-quarantine education, the renaming of Lynchburg, the changing of the national anthem, depictions of White Jesus, and the politicization of masks, the unpaid interns discuss what it means to put religion before politics, disagreeing in love, and how to separate personal experience from objective truths. Also, mad props to Daniel Simion for the bell sound.

This week's question comes from Jacob M. (also from the 215), but Matt and Tim are out of answers. How much is too much? What kind of work is most godly? What constitutes rest? Is Matt's family the subject matter of Fargo Season 5? Did Tim quote himself? Fresh off of three hours of sleep, Matt and Tim get together to discuss (ironically) what rest should look like while clearly avoiding practicing what they preach. Join them as they slowly wake up and spew nonsense to cover up the fact that they truly don't have the answer to these difficult questions, and instead, call on their viewers for help.

This week, Matt and Tim answer a question from Chris W. (from the 215) and discuss Aristotelian comedy, stand-up pastors, and the talent of Robert Pickering Burnham. In typical unpaid intern fashion, Tim argues that all life is suffering while Matt argues that Tim Hawking is not family-friendly material.
From the king of samples to whom every episode is dedicated to: "What does Webster say about soul? / 'All I want is a good home and a wife / And a children, and some food to feed them every night' / After all is said and done, build a new route to China if they'll have you / Who will survive in America? / Who will survive in America? / Who will survive in America? / Who will survive in America?" (Kanye West, Who Will Survive in America, MBTDF, 2010).
Matt and Tim start in agreement over their now-mutual love for the music of Kanye West, the importance of the Beach Boys' divine transcendence, and the artistic theology of Francis Schaeffer, but fall into an argument over the merits of pop music, the temptations of monetizing the Beautiful, and which Taylor Swift album will stand the test of time. Also, this episode comes with a fun drinking game: Take a shot every time Matt says the word, "phenomenal".

Fresh off last week’s awkward agreement, Matt and Tim get back to their normal, diametrically-opposed friendship by arguing over the merits of social media. Tim explains why he thinks it is the holy book of worldliness that teaches Christian false doctrines, Matt counters with a logical and balanced flow of ideas.

Matt and Tim cover a contemporary topic that's already been solved. Tim advocates for the buddy system, and Matt condemns individualism and people who think they are worth listening to. It is good to see a podcast episode can make a difference before even being released to the public.
Dear youth pastors, two business students love you, and that is why they have this open discussion. A propitiation between the clergy and the lay, Matt and Tim discuss bad eggs, terrible old people, and legalism in this two-part marathon. They may not be known for their graciousness, but they are definitely known for their willingness to be persuaded. Matt and Tim wrap their jaws around the two classic foodie arguments, simultaneously keeping their tones calm and professional while proving that gluttony is a real sin. Instagram: @unpaidinternspodcast Twitter: @unpayme *forgive the static, Matt's a moron <3
Tim gives an in-depth analysis of something no one knows about or cares, and explains why he's probably going to blow $10,000 a year on his children's education. In response, Matt explains why he's the normal one in this relationship. Instagram: @unpaidinternspodcast Twitter: @unpayme

In this series pilot, Matt and Tim discuss the pros and cons of creating a new product, Tim's greatest fear in life, and Matt's attempted coup d'etat for the culture's money, power, and fame. Instagram: @unpaidinternspodcast Twitter: @unpayme
