...the return. It's been two years since we last breathed down a microphone Martin (Judas Tune Us), Gunther and Werner are back. To kick-start our shows we invited Nick Birch (Reaper ) and Owen Boonzaier (GPPL) to catch us up on the current state of South African Paintball. What was meant to be serious show went south with the celebrations. We get caught up on all acronyms, Marshaling and how it's all Johan and Dynamics fault... is it? Oh yes... OOSteve's cage fighting these days, go figure? Make sense?
...you don't get quit!
We've got lots to talk about this month! First, it is our range owner special; we have a laugh with Jacques Cloete manager/owner of Gotcha Paintball. We aim to add value to prospective range owners and social players venturing out for the very first time. We might have gone a little off topic though, how about a Dean Guitar for R500, Angels with intercooler systems and shooting your marker from the hip gangsta style. We explore Gotcha's safety policy, Mike Schneiders' dip in the Gotcha river and ask ourselves, BUT does it hurrrt? Gunther makes an important announcement at the end of the show. Don't forget! In the bush, no-one can hear you cry.
We headed to Q.ba late last year to record the last show of 2008, and our first ever public performance. How about our new intro tune by the Brothers of Thunder? The formidable Birch bro's, one disguised as Nacho Libre, Troy Nagel and our long lost brother Judas Tune Us joined us for the momentous occasion. It's all a bit fuzzy though, we tear a Rotor Hopper apart... make more enemies than JAXs' IQ... we listen to some music, Borthers of Thunder, Rambling Bones and the Sessions. We chat about the SAPPL, Orlando and crown 2008's ballbags of the year. This is also a special show. We give away a few T-shirts thanks to Eliot Green and if you listen closely and follow the instructions you might be the 'winner' of a Rotor Quick Feed thanks to the 'loser' at Paintball City. Listen to the show and all will be revealed!
Back on the bandwidthwaves! Your SAPaintball.info podcast duo is back with a new show we dub the Hangover Special. Apart from dealing with Gunther's CKay induced stupor we cover a lot of audio ground. We read out some of the much appreciated feedback, review the Phantom re-balls from Pinetown and mention how you can get your hands on a DM8 of you own. Gunther reports on the recent SAPPL, Werner's upset about the new no-prize-money-policy and goes on about Tournament marketing. We wind the show down talking about the 3rd SAPPL and say goodbye to some SA teams. Oh yes! Where in the world is Jason Brown these days?
It's hard to do a podcast if you partner in crime forgot the equipment at home. We went low-budget for this show. Gunther Sqaurepants lead the way with feedback from the last show. Yes, we received feedback - Sweet! We chat about SAPPL and send apologies to the M5 Jokers guys. Werner hates Marshalling! We try not to anger Port Elizabeth's Black sending some respect to the coastal dudes. We chat 3-Man, rate of fire and Reaper's new engraved DM 8's. Marshalling? I hate it man! Podcast-4-life...
It's been a while but the podcast two-some is back. We satdown the past weekend to record the first edition of our new micro-podcast. Yep, we changed the format from chaos to mere Paintball conversations. In this show we discuss, the SAPPL apathy, Trojan's new speed cap, shooting at 12bps and note our concerns about the state of Paintball safety.
What were we thinking? That's how we would define this show in retrospect. With the new year here, we packed our kit into Weener Dawgs' car, and rolled over to Tattoo Tony's studio. Our new motto 'Taking to take the show to the people in 2008'. During the show we listen to Etienne 'Vleishammer' Fouche's phat rhymes whilst Divan 'White trash Beautiful' Goosen joins us from the wrong side of the mountain. Everything goes pear shaped and the duo manage to offend everybody in south African Paintball - with the help of their 'vet homies' the Four Cousins. Judas could unfortunately not join us for this cast due to other commitments, but CZ was happy to fall in and help out with some photos. We ask ColdZero about his new range of clothing, ColdWar and we take some time out to try and figure out what's happening with the SAPPL and the 2008 season.
What happens when you tale six paintballers and place them in a same room as a cat? Well, let's say beer and antihistamines don't collate brothers! Werner gets nice and tight with the Unleashed boy, Gunther. We try to chat about the 2007 season as well as the New Year. We talk about Malaysia and rubbing cream on people's knees. We all nominate our personal Ballbags for 2007. Martin gets to spend time with his hero but Troy is not phased. He gets to wear his DYE gear! Chris Birch makes a very important phone call to give an Angel away while Nick tries to hook the cat up with a microphone. Don't miss the last show of the 2007 season.
No time for fancy words this week - as I head off to Malaysia I leave you guys with our November Podcast. We return to Villa-da-Judas to interview Russian Legion Pro-Baller Bart Blonski. We chat about his humble beginnings, playing for my all-time favorite team the Ground Zero and the highs and lows of the Orlando World Cup. Yes! We do all this while stealing Martin's 'FUNDER'. Don't miss this little gem. Hey! It's also our last show with Dark Duck and Blades and Triggers- thanks for the support Dawid and Ridwaan. We will be posting the winner of that Angel soon... Don't forget to sms or email us your podcast comments. Podcast-4-Life!
The Leigh's Mom special! This week we bring you our second bonus podcast with Leigh 'Lips' Digard from London Nexus. My usual partners in crime, Gunther and Martin, could not make it to the recording so we enlisted our special guest host Troy Nagel and headed off to OOSteve's castle in Primrose. This interview is probably the most insightfull podcast we've done this year. We asked Lips about the great run Nexus had this year and asked him about their recent trip to Promised Land, the Orlando World Cup. We got some cool training tips from the botox-lipped legend just to make this show extra useful and not a waste of precious SA bandwidth. Leigh shared some of his insights into South African paintball just to make us think about the status quo. It's not all serious though, Leigh seems to bear the brunt of most of the Nexus pranks and we crown a special bonus-BallBag! If you only download one show this year then this one should be that... Podcast-4-life!
We nearly missed the boat on this one. Werner tries not to infect the crew with bird flu, Gunther can't remember what show it is and Martin wonders why he allowed us to return to his house again! This week we chat to Terrance 'The Tank' Trim from team Awsim, we also invited Jared Yeo from the Johannesburg Mercenaries to fill up our studio. The Tank Ass-simulates us while we listen to Jared obsession with Femine pads.
Bad boys, bad boys! We sit down and do brunch with the Gasman and Pablo from Firestorm. We come to realize that the Gasman's only human and that Mr. Winkles' actual the one taking all the lonesome punishment. We tune in with SA ska-band The Rudamentals and listen to some more good sounds from Reach and The Narrow. We beg Elan, Firestorm Captain to forgive Pablo - even though he stole Pablo's thunder. We find out who John McKay and Eduard van Zweeden is. We listen to the Firestorm's history, their 9 lives, sandbagging in the Millennium, Invert Mini's, Spanish dancers, YMCA shower curtains and how Eddie keeps on screwing his own team over. We feel the love between Eddie and John as they talk about their sordid phone calls and love for each other. Come drink a cup of coffee with us unless you want to get the pew-pew! Oh, and did we mention that you are paying guuuuuuuuueey....Toodles!
Gunther, Martin and yours truly (Werner) spent an evening with JBones, front-man of the South African Ska-Punk band Fuzigish recording our first BONUS Podcast. Fuzi's been on the SA music scene for years performing with a vast array of local and international acts. The band's also instrumental in brining out some of the legendary international bands including Lagwagon, the Mad Caddies a few months ago and now NoFX in November.
We dedicate this weeks' show to our fallen comrade Gielmie Gozyn (Impact). We chat to one of his former team mates and legend in his own right Dave 'ColdZero' Lupnow. Dave tells us about Naked Thursdays and we send out an open invitation to all. We round out double barrel interview off with fellow Staaldraad competitor and captain of Team Unleashed, Phillip . In true pod cast fashion we end up talking about his career highlights including the love and respect he shows towards our senior citizens. We nominate a few Ballbags and listen to some cool local tunes from ManinSuite and Fourty40.
OOSteve, London Nexus in da house! He's no Spiderman nor parktown prawn but he's our own Pro-guy. Martin, with a distinct Anton Goosen flavor, spin some tunes from Wickhead. We interview the Birch Bro's and hear about the he-she midget bunkers in Taiwan (and Nicks' bat). Who do hell is Michael? Who's watching the shop? We've got a super special BallBag group and chat about the next SAPPL event. All hail the rose from Primrose!
Show 6 coming at ya, the Cosmic Candy Special! We invite AJ and Keith from All Stars to come and chat with us, but someone forgot the mic stands at home! Keith shares his special middle name with us and AJ get all worked up about the SAPPL, for nothing! We deny knowing anything about stolen cars but Gunther tries to sell us on the idea of PSP ramping. Judas, still in du-vh one, spin us some tunes from X...etc. and Reach. We give away some cool Silhouette goodies and invite you to vote on the SAPPL. Guess what! All this could earn you Max's Angel, howz that? Enter now or you might get stuck with Bradley Diesels DM 1!
Our special 'SAPPL exclusive' show! David Jarvis made it in 30 minutes flat and we chat about the Rage SA days. 'That's real bad man, let me clean that hopper for you mate'. I get on a soap box but no one cares! Moving on... We have an Angel 1 up for grabs, we listen to Reach and Fuzi Gish. Hey, the highlight, we prank Danny the Dog from team Impact.
The three dutchies waste Maximus' time in our very first Joy Division special. We send some respect to the moshpit heroes, keep the BallBag in the extended pod cast family, read your feedback, all this while listening to Fuzigish and the Hellphones, phew! Did I mention Joy Division? We reveal a 'special-special' for the end of 2007 and introduce the delicate art of upper-decking to South Africa. Joy Division? Oh! Who is Mr. Blue? Wait, we also try to weave some paintball into this weeks' show as well.. Podcast-4-life!
Farewell oh bath sponge! We get to grips with new era of SAPaintball.info Pod casting, we've got more knobs to push thanks to Dark Duck and Blades and Triggers. The Dutchmen chat to the 'Bonny' of Eclipse, Nick Truter (Planet Eclipse) and the NYFD fire fighter Mr. U (LA Ironmen). Gunther clinches a two story title and we listen to the latest tunes from Fuzi Gish. If that's not enough to satisfy your insatiable needs then head over to the Paintball Shop for our DVD giveaway.
Seventeen takes and a missing sack, just to get the show started! The Birch Bro's pop in to help us read your feedback and destroy our little Southern Studio. 'Judas-Tune-Us from 187' joins the Pod cast troop and we listen to the Slashdogs and The Narrow, kick-ass South African music. We discover Parktown Porn under Nick's bed while Chris mows lawns in his Speedo. Nexus killer 00Steve lets the cat out of the bag and we 'motion' that Pro becomes a 'Division on its own'.
