SMS and mobile fundraising messaging audiences growing fastest
In 2020, the growth of mobile audiences has been by far outpacing social media or email. The volume of text messaging by nonprofits grew by 14 percent overall last year. Nonprofit text messaging audiences grew by a quarter compared to last year, more than six times of the Facebook audiences. Email list sizes actually declined slightly.
The numbers are still a sign that users are incredibly comfortable using mobile devices as their primary means of staying in touch with the causes they care about. However, the mobile contacts that nonprofits have are still low. According to the report, nonprofits only have 72 mobile subscribers for every 1,000 email addresses.
