"To Build or Not to Build", What is going on with building materials? With Parr Lumber and Windermere Real estate
Description
What is going on with building supplies? When will this end? Should I build or wait? Is the building industry going to survive?
The Oregon Home Builders Association has bi yearly market update to keep you informed about the status of the building industry. We're hosting the wrap up party.
Why do we need this you may ask?
Well if you're building a home or remodeling, it will come at no surprise to you that the price of materials is skyrocketing and the availability of contractors, carpenters, electricians, hell...laborers is very limited.
We're looking to see if there is any change on the horizon, to help you time your build. Maybe you want to pull the trigger now on materials before they go up, or maybe there will be relief on the horizons..
None of us have a crystal ball, and this isn't professional financial advice, however to help us understand the market updates are some of the best in the industry for supplies and the real estate market
To understand the supply side of the market we have: - Corey Valdez and Tony Cookston from the Weekend Warriors podcast, hosted by Parr Lumber. They can be found on 1190KEX in the Portland area Sunday 10-noon, or at PARR.com
And from the real estate market -Joe Findling from Joe Opens Doors at Windermere Real estate, he can be found at joeopensdoors.com, he resides in the Portland Metropolitan area.
Lastly, if you aren't a member, sign up with the Home Builders Association. Our local contact is Jodi Bailey for the Home Builders Association of Metro Portland and she can be reached directly at 503.603.4526 or at hbapdx.org
They are having a membership drive where memberships are $100 off to get started. The HBA may be one of the only groups that will be able to advocate for support from the government which could help out the industry.
