"What we do with what we have been given shows what we believe about the One who gave it- AKA Kingdom Investment Principles" - Matthew 25:14-30
Description
This text is the parable of the talents which shows two examples of joyful risking. Faithful action reveals faith. Faith isn't a head knowledge, it is a lived out reality. What we do with our lives matters a lot to God.
God's desire is to celebrate (share the joy) of every aspect of your life with you, He is not trying to get you to do all of the things in your life well.
When you risk to share who you are, He develops and grows you (through repentence) to be able to share of all that He has made you to be for the purpose of joyful celebration.
The last man reveals his closed mindedness and using his fear to justify himself when he says "I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow ect." What we believe about God will shape our behavior (he burried the treasure). We don't need to get better or try harder, most of the time, we just need to see God differently and then our behavior would change.
Think about why you bury things in your life. We need to unbury them. Anything you bury actually has more power and control over you because Jesus' light and healing hasn't been able to touch them. Jesus was wiling to be burried, to resurrect the things in life that you have burried.
What do you keep trying to bury in your life? Invite the Goodness and Life, the death and resurrection into your life.
