You're right that the algorithms magnify hate. Facebook really screwed things up by having the top comments on Facebook be the most replied to, instead of the most liked. This makes it so the most controversial (generally most hateful and/or ignorant) comments get to the top and are seen by more people, get more likes etc. wtf Facebook.

it's kinda funny how the ads work best (for me) when y'all digress for miles and miles. your distracted banter is always more compelling, entertaining, and insightful than the script.

The 1st Amendment needs to be removed from the social media discussion. Social media companies are sovereign owners of their platforms. They have an absolute right to remove anything posted to their domain that they find objectionable. There's nothing legally or ideologically "wrong" about it, particularly when the content is universally revolting and destructive. The 1st Amendment guarantees that the government won't abridge freedom of speech. It doesn't obligate the government to guarantee anyone an audience. If private citizens don't want to give you a bullhorn for your bullshit, you're not a victim. You're just an asshole. Call it censorship or call it peaches. However they may intuitively seem so, social media are not the public square. You're in Zuck's house, motherfucker. Unless the government is deleting your posts, your rights are not infringed. In this case, social media operators have a responsibilty to enact rigorous, systematic, targeted censorship of radical garbage, or they're as guilty as the agitators. Permitting it is an implicit endorsement, whether they're "condemning" it or not. If people don't like that idea, then they can shut the fuck up.
