❌ The Menendez brothers have been denied a new trial...
Description
After spending 36 years behind bars, it looks like they may not be getting out any time soon, if not, ever. Erik and Lyle were initially sentenced to two consecutive life in prison terms without the possibility of parole back in 1996 after being found guilty of murdering their parents.
They claimed they’d experienced physical, emotional and sexual abuse which is what pushed them into an ‘unprecedented state of mind’ to kill their parents. Then after 36 years, back in May they were both granted a new sentence of 50 years to life and they became immediately eligible for parole. Which they were both denied.
There’s actually some leaked court audio from Erik’s trial in August where you can hear him talk about the moment he went into the den of the home to kill his parents.
Take a listen…
