夏日清晨

霧氣繚繞

蟲聲嘶嘶過濾著空氣

一夜未歸的鳥，機械般地反覆囈語

叫瑪格麗特的鳥，耐心地學習竹雞的叫聲

孱弱而無辜

怎麼連狗兒也學起竹雞叫

莫非是動物界的流行歌曲

一隻胖鳥振翅飛過前景

壁虎嘖嘖不以為然

一陣風讓樹林起了浪

霧散了才知道

大家都迷了路



A summer morning.

Mist lingers.

Insect hissing filters the air.

A bird that never returned home repeats its sleep talk, machine-like.

A bird named Margaret patiently mimics the bamboo partridge.

Frail, and innocent.

Even the dog joins in.

Perhaps it’s the latest hit in the animal kingdom.

A fat bird flaps across the foreground.

A gecko clicks, unimpressed.

A gust of wind stirs waves in the trees.

Only when the mist clears—

does it become obvious:

everyone has lost their way.
