继上期讨论了今日“东京处处都是外人”的社会现象后，我们在本期借由一场围绕翻译的文献与艺术展览，穿越回一百年前的大正日本，回望翻译在二十世纪东亚现代化中的关键角色，以及历史洪流间 “日留子” 们具体而生动的生活细节。

这场名为 「神保町译闻录」 的展览由 「灵犀计划」 策划——这是本期嘉宾 Emily 金雪妮 与Sharon 刘笑容发起的关于亚洲的翻译与翻译亚洲的写作与展览项目。「神保町译闻录」基于对二十世纪初中日文化交流与留学史的文献研究，以当代艺术作品与一系列对谈及工作坊的形式，与一百年前的历史展开对话。展览刚于2025年7月25日至8月7日在东京神保町Gallery Kura（蔵）举办，而这座画廊原为有着百年历史的旧书仓，也在当代观众的心中引发了许多跨越时间的遐想。

回望历史，翻译如何推进和塑造了中国的现代化？学习外语、留学东洋如何承载了学子们对世界与未来的想象？而他们满怀期待与忐忑抵达的大正日本，又是何种社会面貌，与世界各国有何种联系？鲁迅也会“留学几年，怀念终生”吗？官费奖学金够用吗？留子们吃住如何、去神保町哪家书店买书，又念念不忘哪家甜品？——我们翻阅历史，从中窥探或想象这些具体的生活与思绪，也在当下以这样一场展览兼研究项目超越历史，与时空对话。

昔日，翻译仍承载着科学、进步、世界主义与现代化的未来想象；而在知识被解构、系统正崩坏的今日，我们虽然放弃了世界语与地球村的幻景，却也终于坦然接受了“鸡同鸭讲”的混乱困境——不再“需要”翻译，亦无时不刻、永将继续着翻译——翻译着语言、文化、历史与自我。
