Description
Johan Kardell, Swedish Polisen
Thesis title: The Workload of the Dedicated Few in Stockholm: Tracking the Emergency Response Officers on Duty and Incidents that Require Immediate Response by 168 Hours of the Week
Johan Kardell (BSc in Social Work, Stockholm University, Licentiate in Criminology and Phd-student, Stockholm University) works for the Swedish Police Authority since 2012. Up until 2016 he worked with monitoring the results of the Swedish Police, both in the County of Stockholm and at national level. From 2016 he has worked at the Human Resources Department.
Simon Rose, Detective Chief Superintendent BCU Commander North West London (Barnet Brent and Harrow)
Thesis title: Developing Solvability Strategies for Anti-Semitic and Islamophobic crime; an exploratory analysis
Simon joined the Metropolitan police in January 1992 after realising, post university that a career in Chemistry was not going to work, and spending a couple of years living and working odd jobs abroad. After being the only officer on his course of 200 at Hendon training school back classed he arrived at Holloway and was quickly sent to work in the CID when his driving skills were first tested. Simon subsequently worked in Special Branch as a Detective Sergeant, after 9/11, and later as a Detective Chief Inspector (Senior Investigating Officer) running covert anti-corruption enquiries for the MPS and other Forces around the UK. He returned to part time academic study finishing a part time MBA at Warwick Business School in 2012 and more recently Simon was the Borough Commander for Barnet. Barnet is the London Borough with the largest Jewish population in the UK, a fact that was reflected in his choice of research topic on his MSt. Simon had the privilege of representing Cambridge at judo in the Varsity match in 2017 but was unfortunately strangled unconscious by a Norwegian international player from Oxford in his contest. He graduates from the MSt this year.
