#014 - Kasturi Torchia | Study into Lack of Progression
Update: 2019-02-13
Description
Little to no research has reviewed the deterrents, hurdles, and various physical, mental, emotional, and social stressors that traceurs may undergo during training for this sport. The burnout experienced by athletes engaging in such high intensity sports, if unchecked, appears to often result in quitting. Kasturi Torchia proposes that parkour practitioners may have unique and subjective experiences of lack of progression leading to quitting parkour. She shares her research to offer an understanding of this phenomenon. Kasturi Torchia is the co-founder and director of Esprit Concrete and resides in London, UK.
