Description

Parkour communities in the US have grown significantly over the past few years and are increasingly becoming parts of the urban canvas. As parkour continues to grow, we are going to have to define where our roles are within the communities that we live in. Are we just going to be a small business that serves a small sliver of the population and is relatively unknown outside of that? Blake will examine the ways that we can better integrate parkour communities into the fabric of the urban canvas.

Blake Evitt was a Division 1 college cross country and track athlete when he first tried a parkour class in France. In 2010 he was awarded a prestigious Thomas J Watson Fellowship to continue his exploration on the sport and its evolution taking him around the world. His amazing experiences influenced him to launch Parkour Generations Americas. Today Blake continues to help manage the Somerville / Boston parkour community, develop ADAPT Qualifications instructors, and is a director for the United States Parkour Association.

The 2019 Art of Retreat North America is brought to you by our supporting sponsors: Parkour Visions, Enso Movement, Parkour Generations Americas, Zen Planner, Dynasty Fitness, and Movers Mindset.
